Spencer has worked in health care for the past 13 years, first as an RN and the past 6 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner in eastern Idaho. While working in primary care, Spencer found joy in helping those struggling with mental health issues, and also noted the need for more specialized psychiatric providers in our area.

I am accepting clients for face-to-face and telehealth services. I am a graduate from Idaho State University. Prior to school I worked in wilderness therapy in Utah with teens with behavioral/mood disorders and technology/substance addiction. I am passionate about working with teens and adults who are struggling to thrive in life and are in need of coaching and coping skills. I utilize a combination of CBT/DBT in my work with patients. And I also do ketamine therapy for those who are interested.

I am bringing over 27 years of experience to a new outpatient practice here in Idaho, specializing in adult psychiatry. Previously, I served 8 years as the Medical Director of Inpatient Psychiatry for Bon Secours Health System in Richmond, VA. I provide Online sessions statewide as well as in-person appointments in CDA. Other features of my practice included: Timely scheduling of initial appointments; Longer appointment sessions; timely responses via our messaging & email system; electronic prescribing, and electronic lab ordering.

Hello! I'm a board certified adult, adolescent, and child psychiatrist (MD). I want to help you (or your child) on your path towards wellness, balance, and insight. My approach is Integrative and Evidence-Based. That means I offer a very personal approach to mental health and pay attention the total person, including mind-body medicine, nutrition, therapy, physical activity, mindfulness, and community. As a doctor, I understand medicine and how the body affects the mind. I believe that true wellness requires a multi-dimensional approach.

Dr. Rosen's strengths are from a broad training and practice experiences. He has maintained interest in many psychiatric conditions. Practice experiences have included multiple inpatient psychiatric facilities, a psychiatric emergency department, medical hospital settings, office based settings, and neurostimulation with Electroconvulsive Therapy. Dr. Rosen has had therapy training in CBT, psychodynamic, and hypnosis modalities. He values the strength of his training to assist patients in having informed discussions of possible treatment options; whether it is pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, or neurostimulation.

Parenting is a journey--you don't have to do it alone. Originally, the mission of Eucalyptus Health focused on parents, but the need for affirming psychiatric providers for the LGBTQIA+ community and veterans became increasingly apparent. Given my knowledge base of the brain, hormones, sexuality, gender roles, eating disorders, and pregnancy, as well as my lived experience as a nonbinary person and Army veteran, I am delighted to help people get back to enjoying their lives to the fullest.

Are antidepressant medications not providing the relief you hoped for? In my psychiatry residency, I saw scores of patients with depression, anxiety, and PTSD who did not respond well to the traditional first line treatments of antidepressant medications (SSRIs, SNRIs) plus cognitive behavioral therapy. Many had tried over 10 meds and had years of therapy/counseling without benefit. These frustrating experiences led me to develop and pursue interests in mental health treatments that are more likely to be effective—mainly intensive dynamic psychotherapy and ketamine- assisted psychotherapy.

Rene Alamo is an Idaho native who attended Gonzaga University’s Graduate School of Nursing to achieve his Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). When Rene started his journey into nursing he dedicated his career to his late grandmother, Trini. With that dedication, his goal is to provide every one of his patients with the highest quality compassionate and competent care. He treats patients across the age spectrum from children to geriatric. His goal as an advanced practice provider is to extend evidence based, compassionate and competent care to treat our communities' mental health needs.
