Providing in-person convenience to Newark, DE, and surrounding PA/MD areas and Telehealth throughout DE and PA I am committed to help you live fully and explore your potential. I specialize in understanding and solving the life problems of the individual adult (18 and up) which may cause depression and anxiety. I have developed a deep understanding of the pressures inherent in relationships, academia, and cultural dynamics that can fuel these conditions. I am interested in helping to identify and solve issues which cause emotional challenges and am invested in helping people resolve difficulties with grief and loss processes.

Accepting new clients. If requested, I offer a free 15 minute consult to see if I am a right fit for you. Currently, I only provide tele-video counseling. Whether it’s brief, solutions-based counseling, or longer ongoing deeper therapy, our sessions are about you and your needs. Along with our sessions together, I love to offer clients educational ideas to empower them to learn, heal, and grow at their comfortable pace. My relaxed demeanor and experience working as a former lead group educator in an acute dual-diagnosis psychiatric hospital has allowed me to work with diverse populations and their important goals with great care.

I work with children, teenagers, adults, couples/families, active duty military/veterans, LGBTQIA+SGL, and BIPOC experiencing depression, anxiety, life transition, families who have participated in adoption, perinatal/maternal health, trauma-related symptoms, interpersonal relationship conflict, mood-related concerns, domestic violence, and life transitions. Life happens to us all, but each day provides an opportunity to become better to handle life's experiences. Being a Mental Health Therapist and pending Psychologist does not impede me from life's incidents that everyone encounters. The only difference is that I have extensive education, vast experience, and a cheat sheet that assists me while maneuvering through life. I have completely comprehended that fact that people do not care how much you know but rather how much you care. My primary goal as a therapist at Healing Pathways Center is to provide a safe environment for clients as they journey towards their pathway of healing.

My approach to treating OCD is to work together with you to develop and implement a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs and goals. I believe that you are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to support and guide you on your journey of recovery. At NOCD, my team and I provide effective specialized treatment for OCD and related conditions, such as BFRBs (including skin-picking, nail-biting, and hair-pulling). Our understanding of these conditions enables us to treat them properly. When you start with NOCD, you'll work with me or be paired with a therapist in our network, based on your preferences.

“The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it.” I have worked as a clinical psychologist since 2011. Prior to this I received my master’s in clinical health psychology. I have had wonderful opportunities to work in numerous settings to help children and families. I have a vast amount of clinical experience with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. In addition to my clinical work, I conduct clinical training for other child therapists as well as serving as a consultant to early childhood providers.

I am enthusiastic about working with young adults, teens, children and I believe there is no such thing as an ideal client since we're not living in the most ideal world. I believe in being that supportive and directive person in a client's life who is taking the journey with them. I work with a wide range of issues and address these through evidence based practices and skills within Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, sand tray, and positive psychology. In regards to children, I focus my skills on therapeutic play and art to aid in processing and emotion regulation.

The therapy process is a confidential relationship based on mutual respect and trust. The needs of the individual, couple, and family are addressed via traditional and alternative approaches. Dr. Jemail values good listening, kindness, a nonjudgmental approach and draws from the wisdom of research, experience, as well as, common sense. The goal is to promote healing, growth and independence. Therapy via Doxy, FaceTime or phone sessions are an option depending on circumstances. She will provide as needed support out of session. Do you identify as LGBTQ+ and have had trouble accessing affirming behavioral healthcare? I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and decided to start a private telehealth practice to help members of my community who may have had trouble finding a therapist who understands the experiences and challenges of our beautiful and proud community. Our understanding of the nuances of these conditions enables us to diagnose and treat them properly. We have received training in evidence-based treatments, including Exposure Response and Prevention (ERP) therapy—the gold standard treatment for OCD.

These are unprecedented times that challenge all of us. As humans, we perceive uncertainty as a threat, which can lead to anxiety or depression in otherwise healthy individuals. In my practice, my associates and I focus on attachment and trauma as root causes of anxiety and depression. We go beyond symptom relief to help our clients understand how they came to be anxious or depressed and what to do about it.

Jen Jerez is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Delaware who has been practicing since 2018. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Florida and a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling from Walden University. Jen tailors her approach to what the client needs and provides a safe space for clients to be able to speak freely without judgement. Outside of work, Jen enjoys spending time with her dog, daughter, and husband, reading, swimming, and spending time with friends.

Specialize in the treatment of adolescents and adults. I have over 20 years of experience treating youth with severe behavior and social issues; especially those in the juvenile justice system. I take the person-centered and goal oriented approach to counseling along with the mindfulness approach.
