Under the right conditions the human body is designed to heal itself. During therapy sessions, I teach therapy techniques including CBT, EFT & NLP to help you tap into your inner Resources to aids in your health and wellness.

Clients attend therapy for various reasons and my approach to therapy leads with compassion, a great deal of empathy yet direct. I take a holistic approach to assisting clients with navigating life events and past traumas. I have worked with a wide range of emotional and behavioral struggles that impact adolescents, adults, couples and families. My focus is assisting clients in changing unhealthy thinking errors and core beliefs to overcome life’s challenges.

Stress, uncertainty, fear, personal and/or professional angst are all common feelings. However, they can be challenging to work through, especially alone. These feelings make it difficult for you to concentrate. You go out of your way to avoid conflict and often limit your connection to others to keep the peace. I would like to share a little background information to help you make an informed decision, prior to moving forward. I completed all of my formal education from The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), included a bachelors degree in Bio-Behavioral Health, a masters degree in Counselor Education/Psychiatric Rehabilitation, and a doctoral degree in Adult Education.

I have worked with individuals, couples and families in a wide variety of settings for over 25 years. During this time, I have developed a number of particular specialties, including adolescents and families, boys and men, and addiction treatment. Typically, I offer a 3-session initial evaluation, at the end of which I make treatment recommendations. If the recommendation is to continue treatment in my practice, I can work in a variety of modes - individual, couples and family - and emphasize strategies that mobilize relationships and problem solving.

Lauren completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware and received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania.
