I have been in private practice for 30 years and my work is my passion. It is such a gift to be trusted by clients and to work together with a sense of safety. I act as a catalyst for change, growth and transformation. I deeply believe I was born to follow my dream of helping others live with the ability to fulfill their dreams. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults. I specialize in lesbian/ gay/bisexual/transgender issues, family/interpersonal relationships, chronic/ terminal illnesses, generalized anxiety disorders, bipolar, depression, and trauma.

Specialize in the treatment of adolescents and adults. I have over 15 years of experience treating youth with severe behavior and social issues; especially those in the juvenile justice system. I take the person-centered and goal oriented approach to counseling.

I assist clients in improving their mental and physical well-being by providing evidence-based interventions, strategies, and coping skills. Leading with compassion and empathy is a key element for me as a counselor. I offer individual and group process for adolescent struggling with life challenges. NOW Accepting New Clients: In my journey to becoming a therapist, I earned a Master of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University because I believe it is every human being’s inalienable right to explore, find meaning in, and be the author of their own sexual self. I believe that being a sexual being is no different than being a being who breathes. I am passionate about providing a therapeutic environment that embraces and supports queer, poly, kinky, and/or otherwise sexually marginalized individuals. I focus on individuals as well as couples. I also specialize in adult ADHD and neurodiversity.

Shashonna is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health and a Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor. She earned her Undergraduate Degree in Human Services with a Minor in Business from Elon University and earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University. Shashonna is passionate about connecting, motivating, and helping individuals from all walks of life. She has been working in the mental health field for 14 years.

I consider how you are uniquely impacted by any neurological, emotional and/or behavioral difficulties that your are experiencing so that you feel understood and empowered.

I specialize in working with clients who have experienced trauma. My goal is to help you better understand how the trauma that you have experienced has and is affecting your current life. I hope to teach you skills to address your symptoms, to help you think better about yourself, others and the world, to help you learn ways to cope if any symptoms arise again and to treat other problems often related to traumatic experiences such as depression, anxiety or misuse of alcohol or drugs.
