Aloha, I am Shantelle Aglanao and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Certified Counselor on the Leeward side of Oahu.

I was born and raised in Hawaii and my passion is to support children, teens, and adults within my local community. I have been in practice for the past 14+ years, and it is my desire is to provide a family-friendly environment with professional and ethical services to meet the emotional, physical, and social well-being of children, teens, adults and their families.

The most common problems my clients struggle with include mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, as well as substance abuse issues. My clients may also be dealing with life transitions, family conflicts, relationship issues, and trauma.

I am a certified perinatal mental health specialist and support women through the challenges of pregnancy and postpartum. When becoming a parent, relationships change, identities change, and sometimes the stress is overwhelming. Feelings of guilt and exhaustion are common, and past traumas often resurface during this challenging time. You are not alone, and things can get better. I'll help you gain confidence, improve relationships and feel like yourself again!

In practice since 1983, I am the Founder and Director of Ola Hou Clinic in Aiea, Hawaii. My patients have ranged from age 9 months to 93, and have worked with patients from most religious backgrounds and cultures. Personally I am from a Christian background, but respect and work with people within their value system. The Clinic is multidisciplinary with male and female therapists working with children, teens, adults, families and groups. I do consultations, workshops, seminars and humanitarian work. As Executive Director of "Roads to Hope" Humanitarian Mission, I have worked in 28 countries to help with trauma.

Born and raised on Maui, I offer a person-centered, nonjudgmental approach with Aloha. Getting help for challenges we face can be extremely difficult, and the hardest step, is always the first one. In taking the first step, you have made a conscious decision to move in the direction of healing, and freedom. I have over 15 years experience working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. My practice focuses on using evidence based approaches to facilitate movement for individuals struggling with adjustment, anxiety, depression and ASD. In addition, I provide psychoeducation and support for individuals and families who may need additional support/ referrals for appropriate community programs or resources.

My primary focus has been with Children and Families within various community settings. My current employment has led me into Medical Social Work which includes our senior population and setting long term life planning goals. One of my passions is to serve my local community and support therapeutic needs.

I create a safe space for individuals of all ages looking to work through life stressors, depression, anxiety, and trauma (life changes, past history of abuse or neglect, grief/loss).
