Anyone who has, or is, struggling with substance abuse, or other addictive behaviors are welcome. Having goals like sobriety, healthy relationships, and healthy mental health goals allow the building of well being in a therapeutic setting. The desire to improve your life by changing maladapted patterns and cycles, especially developed during active substance use, is the perfect place to start your healing journey.

Therapy can be a significant help in finding relief from difficult feelings such as anger, grief, or sadness. Therapy is also an effective tool in finding solutions and confidence in difficult relationships, or with behaviors that you or a loved one may be struggling with. I acknowledge the courage it can take to seek assistance, as a therapist I always focus on clients strengths. I often work with adults coping with anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, or various types of PTSD. I take a special interest in working with various types of trauma, dissociation, and dissociative disorders in adults.

Trauma affects us all, unfortunately for some, trauma can cause problems beyond the ability to cope. When triggered, the brain can get stuck in fight or flight mode, limiting one's ability to think rationally and function in daily life. Another part of living with the effects of trauma is dealing with the difficult and painful emotions which can cause problems in our relationships and can negatively impact our connections with others. Depression, anxiety, grief, anger, confusion, frustration, shame, and isolation can all be a result of unresolved trauma.

Since 2015 I have been helping individuals and families in need of therapy for, family issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction and more.  This is an opportunity for you to get help in an empathetic, nonjudgmental, casual, and knowledgeable atmosphere.  I believe life changing therapy begins with addressing mental, physical and spiritual health. We will work on all three of these important areas. Along the way you can heal from trauma and learn amazing skills to unload what isn't helpful and start doing what is helpful.  When I'm not working I enjoy family time, sports, the outdoors, fitness and learning.

Before becoming an LCSW I worked for many years as a medical assistant. My background and training in these fields helps me understand and guide patients / family members through illness and / or grief. I also have extensive experience helping people who are depressed or anxious. I believe that it is important to listen to clients and learn from them, rather than approaching their concerns as if I have all the answers. Together we can find ways for you, the client, to grow, cope with, and overcome stressors and difficulties in life.

So many of us are trapped by our own fears, insecurities, and doubts. Some challenges have names such as OCD, anxiety, hair pulling, skin picking, ADHD, or impulsive emotions. You might feel overwhelming sadness, fear in social interactions, or constant anxiety from intrusive thoughts. You may even be avoiding social interactions, struggling at work, having difficulty in personal relationships, or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. These fears might be stealing your laughter, freedom, and connection with others. In therapy I can help you or your child navigate these complex experiences.

Life is full of twists and turns, and at times we all go through seasons of depression and anxiety, trauma and pain. If you're hesitant about beginning your own therapeutic journey, let me be the first to tell you, you are not alone. One of the most powerful things we can experience is connection and unconditional support, and this is what I seek to provide for my clients regardless of what they are going through, and what season of life they are in.

Hello, I'm Marshall! I've been a counselor for about ten years now, and no matter what your mental condition or issues might be, you won't find judgment from me. But you will find expertise with a friendly human who takes good care of his own mental health and is also highly capable and ready to help. We'll first figure out what your hopes and goals are and then will carve out the easiest, most effortless path to getting there. This can be painful but works best as we prioritize uncovering your core self and identity. I help you to subtract what you are NOT so that you can easily see the powerful being you were all along.

Telehealth appointments available now! For many of us, the decision to seek therapy isn't an easy one. It can be hard to admit there is a problem we can't solve on our own, or to face the feelings that we get so good at pushing away. Healing is possible--even from trauma and loss. The process works best when you find someone who you feel is on your side, and is working with you to help you reach your goals. I hope I can be that person for you! I have successfully treated PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, and more. As a working mother myself, I feel a special desire to help other moms achieve their mental health goals.

Counseling can be an amazing discovery into new ways of creating happiness. My dedication is fired by my clients' "Aha!" moments. It's not unusual for a client say, "This is really amazing-- Can I get my wife (mother-in-law, son, brother) in here?" That means we are doing therapy right! My people enjoy the counseling experience and laugh as often as they experience other emotions. I use a great deal of stories, humor, and building on strengths to inspire progress from one success to another. When clients have small successes as a foundation, they can launch to a lifetime of satisfaction.

One of the lenses through which I view counseling is Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. This type of counseling focuses on serving individuals with chronic illness and disability. It is my belief that disability is a natural part of the human experience and much of the stigma surrounding chronic illness and disability comes from deep-rooted, societal fears and misunderstanding of what disability is and represents. Psychosocial adaptation to disability (including mental health) are central to understanding the self and personal growth. It is my hope that through the counseling process, we can facilitate this growth together.
