Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is Coming on December 9 on Xbox and PC, With PS5 Release in Spring 2025

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, one of the most-anticipated games of the year now has an official release date. At the end of the gamescom Opening Night Live livestream today, it was revealed that the game will be released on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass on December 9. However, it won’t be exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem for a long time as a PlayStation 5 release has also been announced for Spring 2025.

A new trailer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has also been published today, and you can watch it below. The game, which is developed by Wolfenstein II: The New Colussus developer MachineGames, will use a first-person camera but switch to a third-person camera during traversal sequences.

Microsoft releasing more of its games on PlayStation 5 shouldn’t be too surprising after we saw the Xbox-exclusive Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Grounded come to Sony’s console earlier this year. However, the fact that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be coming to PlayStation 5 just a couple of months after its Xbox release is interesting. The upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages, however, won’t be a timed Xbox console exclusive as it’s currently scheduled to be released on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC in 2025.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be available on day one on Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but people who pre-order the Premium Edition, Premium Edition Upgrade, or Collector’s Edition will get three days of early access. This paid early access period is something Microsoft previously did with other games such as Forza Horizon 5 and Starfield, and it’s a good way to push Game Pass subscribers to pay extra to play these games before their official release. In addition to 3 days of early access, the game’s Premium Edition upgrade will include the upcoming The Order of Giants story DLC, a digital art book, the Temple of Doom outfit, and the Last Crusade cosmetic pack.

Today’s Opening Night Live conference also put the spotlight on other Xbox and Bethesda games: Starfield is getting a free update today that introduces a new REV-8 land vehicle and new performance options (including 60FPS and Uncapped frame rates modes) on the Xbox Series S. Shattered Space, the game’s first DLC is also coming on September 30.

Lastly, we also got some news today about Towerborne, an upcoming side-scrolling action-adventure game published by Xbox Game Studios. The game will launch in early access on Steam on September 10, and it will be coming to Xbox Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Game Pass in 2025. If the game will also be free-to-play, Game Pass members will likely get additional content similar to how Valorant players can access the game’s full roster of heroes with a Game Pass subscription.
