Surface Laptop 7, Surface Pro 11 for Business Now Available for Preorder

Surface Pro 11 for Business

I can’t find an announcement post, but the Business versions of Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 are now available for preorder and will start shipping to customers on September 11. As promised, Surface Pro 11 for Business will be available with optional 5G networking.

It’s been a busy and confusing year for these products.

Microsoft announced Surface Laptop 6 for Business and Surface Laptop 7 for Business back in March, but those products are based on the Intel Core Ultra (“Meteor Lake”) x64 chipset. It then announced Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 for consumers at a special event in May head of its annual Build conference. Those products shipped to customers on June 18 alongside third-party Copilot+ PCs, and they’re based on the Arm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon X architecture.

But now we have–or, will soon have–Snapdragon X-based Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 models for businesses as well. As noted, there’s no announcement post to speak of, but you can find the product pages on Surface.com using the above links. Microsoft never gets its branding right, so the Surface Laptop 7 is called Surface Laptop for Business, Copilot+ PC. And Surface Pro 11 is called Surface Pro for Business, Copilot+ PC.

Surface Laptop 7 for Business starts at $1099.99 for the 13-inch version and $1399.99 for the 15-inch version. There are only two color choices, however, Platinum and Black, and fewer model choices with no build-your-own options. A fully decked out 15-inch Surface Laptop 7 for Business with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage will set you back $2199.99.

Surface Pro 11 for Business starts at $1099 for the LCD versions and $1599.99 for OLED. Here, too, you get the same two color choices, and several configurations. But you can order Surface Pro 11 for Business with 5G, albeit in a single color (Platinum) and configuration (16 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage) for $1399 (Snapdragon X Plus) or $1899.99 (Snapdragon X Elite). It’s possible that the 5G versions will ship later in September.

As always, you’ll need to order a Surface Pro Type Cover as well, and Microsoft offers various versions–Surface Pro Keyboard or Business (black, $139.99), Surface Pro Keyboard with pen storage for Business (in two colors, and in black with bold keyset, $179.99) Surface Pro Keyboard with Slim Pen for Business (in two colors, $279.99), Surface Pro, and more–during purchase time. (Surface Pro Flex Keyboard for Business, with or without bold keyset, is $349.99.)

Each of these PCs comes with Windows 11 Pro, of course. Microsoft doesn’t provide details about which Snapdragon X processors each includes, but I assume nothing has changed compared to the consumer versions.

Thanks to Windows Central for the tip.
