If you’re anything like me, you spent the pandemic fortifying your wardrobe with loungewear, working from the couch, and eating comfort food. A few years post-pandemic, I’m still trying to shed the pounds I gained and motivate myself to wear something that resembles a real outfit. It’s like I’ve forgotten how to coordinate a look, and my years in fashion design school went right out the window.

I’m making an effort these days to reclaim my once fashionable self — or at least put on clothes I can leave the house in (or answer the door in). It makes me feel more put together, organized, and like an actual adult, which my birthdate claims I am.

My personal rules of fashion are that clothing needs to be at least somewhat comfortable, flattering and versatile. Why I like this blouse

I was immediately impressed when I put this shirt on — there’s a reason why it has over 4,300 five-star reviews! It has a flattering V-neck that’s not revealing, cute open ruffle sleeves that are comfortable and aren’t restrictive, and a roomy fit for busty gals that have a few pounds to hide, like me. The fabric is made of a blend of polyester and spandex, so it has a little stretch. The pattern of tufts of thread dotted across the fabric give it character and dimension and set it apart from a plain, boring blouse.

Best of all, this blouse is available in 35 different colors and patterns! I opted for a bright summery pink that reminds me of a watermelon because it’s colorful and fun, but is also great to match up with basics. It pairs well with anything denim, white linen pants or shorts, or a floral pencil skirt.

Most of the reviewers on Amazon have similar comments to mine. They like that the shirt is comfortable, versatile, and has a great fit and appearance — and especially that it's forgiving around the tummy area. Though most reviewers claim the top is true to size, I went up one size (size XL) and for me that was a perfect fit. Many reviewers bought the shirt in several different colors (it’s so affordable, why not!?) and I will be doing the same.

This shirt washes and dries well, which is definitely key, because I don’t usually have time to line dry, dry clean, or iron clothing. The Amazon description says this shirt is good for business, office, dates, or as streetwear, and I’d agree that it can easily be dressed up or down: It would look great with jeans and sneakers while running to the store or partnered with a skirt and heels for a dressier event. This is the type of shirt that’s perfect for summer travel, too: It rolls up easily without wrinkling and can be worn for a range of activities while on the road. I’m just thrilled that I’ve found the perfect summer top that’s going to be a new staple in my summer wardrobe.
