I live for summer, drinking extra icy cold brews outside, walking around barefoot against my better judgement, and of course enjoying the much longer, sunny days where laughter and fun sees no end. I’m usually not fazed by the heat, but this year when a few 75-degree days came our way mid-August in Philadelphia, my mindset quickly shifted. I’m seriously living for crisp, cozy weather right now.

Why I like this dress
I love an Amazon fashion moment, and when I spotted this ribbed, lantern-sleeved sweater dress from a brand called Sampeel, I knew I hit the fall fashion jackpot — there are limitless ways to wear it! While there are 11 really great fall-inspired colors to choose from, the green stood out to me immediately. It truly coordinates beautifully with any and every color imaginable!
Details make all the difference, too, right? The classic square neckline elevates this piece, and it’s so cozy. The fabric is a fuzzy poly blend — you’ve definitely touched it before! It’s super soft, like a mix of cashmere and fleece. I’ve owned holiday pajamas in this textile, but more on the fabric later.
It’s hard to find a dress without pockets nowadays. Designers certainly heard our pocket appeals loud and clear. My opinion: we should honestly report when there aren’t any pockets, so this is a long-winded way to let you know that you definitely have a place to stash your phone and keys.
The billowy sleeves flow from a delicate puff shoulder. It’s my favorite feature of the dress since this special detail elevates it perfectly for night and work. These are details you find on Free People and Anthro dresses, but at a fraction of the price!
Everydayness Ease
My girls just started Kindergarten and getting them up and dressed, alongside their 21-month-old little brother is a feat unto itself. It can be really tough looking put together on those chaotic mornings — which truly happens to be all of them! This dress is a perfect slip-on-and-done outfit that I can power walk to school in while pushing over 100 pounds of children in a wagon, then immediately run errands in. While I’m still sporting my black Croc sandals until it cools off more, I’ll be transitioning into white Keds in no time, which will lend the look a sportier feel.
Professionally Polished
Once the kids have been dropped off, slipping on a simple pair of gold hoops is enough to make me look a bit more business profesh, which of course I need to be — while zooming through a team meeting or two. If I’m meeting IRL, I pair it with low-heeled loafers and a neutral bag. It looks great with a blazer layered on top, too! An oversized gold watch that peeks through the sleeve launches this into power girl status.
Transition Techniques
One of the best things about this dress is its versatility. You can easily adjust your layers to stay comfortable. As temperatures drop, you can layer it with a pair of leggings or tights — and even a long-sleeve turtleneck or quilted vest to amp the cozy factor up top.
What to consider
Now, back to that softness. The fabric is a green marled ribbed poly blend, and while it looks and feels incredible, it does come at a cost. Hand wash only, folks. Yep, you read that right. You’ll be able to get away with a short wash in cold water, but do not — and I really mean it — do not put it in the dryer. This fabric is prone to pilling, but adhering to this fabric care will guarantee you’ll have a sharp, crisp looking dress for many more fall to winter transitions to come.
