Which Emma mattress US should I choose?
The Emma Hybrid Comfort is the cheapest mattress that the company currently offers. This 13-inch mattress features supportive coils that are designed to align your head, shoulders, back, hips and legs. The top layer delivers the high levels of motion isolation we expect from the best memory foam mattresses, which is great for couples.
All of this is wrapped up in an effective climate-regulating top cover, which prevents a build-up of heat or moisture when you're in bed. Very hot sleepers might find the Hybrid Comfort still runs warm, but teaming it with a cooling pick from our guide to the best mattress toppers can help provide cooler, comfier sleep. The Emma Hybrid Comfrot is a fairly budget-friendly pick, thanks to regular Emma mattress discounts, making it a close rival of the Nectar mattress (check out our Nectar mattress sales page, for more information on Nectar pricing).
The Emma Hybrid Cooling Comfort packs in all the features of the Emma Hybrid Comfort, but adds a cooling cover featuring adaptive technology to reduce heat even further. Which Emma mattress UK should I choose?
Emma's UK mattress selection has changed significantly in recent years. Once best known for super soft and contouring all-foam beds, Emma has expanded the range to focus primarily on hybrid mattresses. While the collection might have changed, Emma has maintained its focus on creating affordable comfort.
The Emma Original was once the flagship model of the Emma line-up, offering superb value for money and a sink-in comfort that's best for side sleepers. You can still shop this bed, but you'll have to scroll to the bottom of the Emma UK site and select the 'Budget' option.
Stepping away from memory foam, Emma has expanded its hybrid mattress range. The Emma NextGen Premium collection features infinity pocket springs to aid breathability and pressure relief, with seven-zoned support to ensure the entire body is comfortable. While cooler than the all-foam Emma mattresses, hot sleepers should check out the Emma Cooling Mattress range. This consists of the Emma Luxe Cooling and the upgraded Emma NextGen Cooling.
Finally, the Emma Elite Mattress is Emma's luxury offering, an innovative hybrid bed that features an upper layer of AirGrid hyper-elastic geometric foam. Capable of contouring closely to the body, the AirGrid provides a unique weightless feel. US Emma Original mattress deals
The Emma Hybrid Comfort is a competitively priced hybrid mattress, offering 13 inches of support from thick foam layers and a sturdy coil core. For hot sleepers and those with bigger builds, the Emma Hybrid Comfort is the better Emma mattress.
At the base of the Hybrid Comfort you'll find a layer of stabilizing support, followed by a layer of ergonomic pocket springs. These springs offer zoned support for the entire body, providing optimum pressure relief where the body needs it most.
Next, is a layer of HRX (High Resiliency Extra) foam, before a layer of motion-isolating foam, and a final layer of Airgocell foam. Reviews indicate that despite the hybrid build, the foam heavily influences the feel of the Hybrid Comfort, with a softer finish and limited bounce.
While more expensive than the Original, the Emma Hybrid Comfort is still a budget-friendly hybrid choice. At full MSRP, a queen will set you back $1,319 – but you'll never have to pay full price, and Emma has a habit of changing the MSRP. In the Emma mattress sales you can typically expect to pay around $659 for a queen.
The Emma Hybrid Cooling Elite is the tallest, coolest, and most expensive option in the Emma Sleep US line-up. This premium hybrid features 14 inches of support for a plush sleep feel that can add a touch of luxury to any sleep bedroom.
Enhanced cooling comes courtesy of the Thermosync foam, a graphite-infused foam that sits at the top of the mattress and draws heat away from the body. Below, Airgocell foam aids air circulation (which is further improved by a breathable spring layer) while the UltraDry cover is completely removable for easier washing.
Reviews indicate the Hybrid Cooling Elite is firmer than other mattresses in the Emma range, making it a better choice for back and side sleepers. However, that deep build should still appeal to side sleepers, particularly those who are heavier.
The Emma Hybrid Cooling Elite might be the priciest Emma bed, but it's still affordable compared to the best luxury mattresses. When it's on sale, that is. As Emma sales are frequent, we expect you'll rarely pay full price for the Hybrid Cooling Elite. However, the premium bed in the Emma UK range isn't discounted as frequently as the more affordable options, so there's a chance savings will be rarer.
UK Emma Original mattress deals
The Emma Original is the brand's most popular mattress and its cheapest. While it has a 5 (out of 10) firmness rating, it's on the softer side of medium firmness, making it a brilliant choice for side sleepers who need extra cushioning to reduce pressure on their hips and knees. We have also tested the Emma Original with combi sleepers (people who switch between sleep positions) and they loved the Emma regardless of the position they ended up in.
If you do feel that the Original isn't firm enough or soft enough for your body, you can request a free comfort layer from Emma. This is excellent as you can closely tailor the feel of this mattress to your body weight and posture needs.
The Emma Original sports a no motion transfer design, which is ideal for couples where one of you is a restless sleeper or moves between positions in the night. Hygiene wise the Emma ticks all the boxes too with a removable and machine-washable cover to keep allergens, stains and bacteria at bay.
Emma is discontinuing the Original and the Original Plus, so shop now if you want to get your hands on this mattress. The deal tends to switch back-and-forth between the Original and Original Plus, with one full price when the other is on sale. When discounted, you can expect a double to set you back around £499.
The Emma NextGen Premium is a supportive hybrid with a medium-firm feel that can suit a wide range of sleep styles. With a base of 7-zoned ergonomic springs, the Emma NextGen Premium cradles the body from head-to-toe, with a gentle contouring feel providing full-body pressure relief. Although, reviews indicate the edge support could be improved.
As well as springs, the Emma NextGen Premium features three upper layers of comfort foams. Just above the springs sits a layer of dense transition foam, followed by a layer of cushioned foam, and a final layer of adaptive memory foam. While these foams will cradle your body shape, they don't have the sink-in comfort of the Emma Original. This is a firmer mattress, best suited for back and stomach sleepers, as well as heavier side sleepers.
Emma has a habit of adjusting the RRP and discount on the NextGen Premium, but the final price tends to remain fairly consistent. You can expect to pay around £460 for a double, with a king often coming in at £519.
The NextGen Premium is also available as the NextGen Premium Plus. This is the same basic design, but with an added UltraDry Cooling cover. Emma tends to alternate discounts between the Premium and the Premium Plus, so if the Plus is full price but you want the cooler cover, it's worth waiting around the the deal to change.
The Luxe Cooling Mattress is Emma's first-generation bed for hot sleepers. A supportive hybrid mattress, the Luxe Cooling features tall, open coils for improved breathability and better airflow.
Hybrid mattresses are, in general, known for their cooling properties, but Emma has enhanced the chill feel with the addition of cooling foams. This includes a layer of ThermoSync foam, infused with graphite to better capture excess heat. The Emma Luxe Cooling is also fitted with an UltraDry cover, with moisture wicking to keep you cooler overnight.
Emma claims the Luxe Cooling has a firm feel, but reviews indicate it's slightly softer than expected. With this in mind, the Luxe Cooling Mattress is likely best suited for back sleepers and side sleepers with a larger build.
If you want a softer, plusher feel, consider upgrading to the Emma NextGen Cooling Mattress. At 27cm tall the deeper build is more supportive for side sleeping, but it features many of the same cooling properties as the Luxe Cooling Mattress.
The Emma Luxe Cooling and the Emma NextGen Cooling mattresses are rarely discounted at the same time, but when one is at full price you can expect to find the other on sale. In the Emma mattress sales a double cooling mattress will typically cost around £680, but the sale price does fluctuate.
The Emma Elite is pretty different from any other mattress in the Emma range – for a start, it's more expensive. But we'll come back to price in a moment. The real defining feature of the Emma Elite is its use of AirGrid technology.
What is the Emma AirGrid? The AirGrid is essentially another foam layer, but it's made from a hyper-elastic material that has a highly responsive and bouncy feel. When you push into the AirGrid, it will quickly mold to your shape, adapting as you move. The grid shaping allows for super close contouring, which can provide pressure relief for aching joints and what Emma describes as a "weightless" feel.
Below the AirGrid, this is a fairly traditional hybrid. There are three layers of foam, including a MemoryAdapt foam for even better contouring. At the base is a layer of springs, offering lumbar support and stability. The Emma Elite has a medium-soft feel, so it's best suited for side sleepers with aches and pains.
The Emma Elite is more expensive than the other beds in the Emma range. The double has an RRP of £1,489, and it isn't always included in the Emma sales, although we have seen it discounted from time to time.
Do I need an Emma mattress discount code?
The best Emma mattress deals are usually found through a discount code. However, for current Emma mattress sales in the US and UK, you don't need to use a coupon.
When they are required, most Emma mattress discount codes are available via the Emma site in the form of a sale banner that appears when you add your chosen mattress to the shopping cart. And often you can just click on the banner to activate the discount without even having to type in the code yourself.

Emma Black Friday and Cyber Monday mattress deals
The Black Friday mattress deals historically bring with them the lowest prices of the year. so what have we seen at Emma in previous years... and what can we expect for 2023?
Emma was the first big UK brand to kick off Black Friday 2022, with an early bird Black Friday sale at the end of October, followed by a Black November sale, a Black Friday flash sale, the actual Black Friday sale, then the extended Black Friday sale. In reality, though, throughout that whole period the pricing on the Emma Original stayed exactly the same as it had been since the summer: 50% off RRP. With that offer, the price of a single Emma Original drops to £249.50 (RRP £499) with the double coming in at £379.50 (RRP £759).
The discount on the Emma Premium did get a bit of a boost though. Usually, there's around 52% off, but we saw 55% off through November, until the end of Cyber Monday, when the discount dropped back down again. In the Emma Black Friday sales, a single cost £359.55 (RRP £799) while the double was £494.55 (RRP £1,099).
Rewind to last year, the Black Friday Emma mattress sale launched later, in mid-November. There was 45% off the Original and the Premium, which at that point was pretty new out. Interestingly, the brand bumped up the discount to 50% off on the weekend after Black Friday, running into Cyber Monday. With that 50% off, a single Emma Original was reduced to £249.50 (was £499) and a double cost £349.50 (was £699). We also saw a 40% discount on the Emma Weighted Blanket but it sold out quickly.
By comparison, the year before in the UK there was a 35% discount site-wide at Emma, with a 3-month Headspace subscription bundled in. John Lewis price-matched the discount. That year, a Double Original cost £343.85.

In the US, the 2022 Emma Black Friday deal knocked 50% off both the Emma Original and the then-new Emma CliMax. The Original in queen size was $699 (was $1,399) while the queen sized CliMax was $799 (originally $1,599).
Last year, the Emma Black Friday deal knocked 40% off the Original. We saw bigger discounts later on – 45% off for Independence Day, for example. The best Emma Cyber Monday mattress deal was up to $1,466 on mattress bundles, followed by a 40% saving on the brand's foam and ACT hybrid mattresses. A queen size Emma Original dropped to $659 (was $1,099), with no discount code needed.
