We are thrilled to announce that we partnered with the Eastern Cape Liquor Board for their 2nd annual Marathon which took place today in Beacon Bay, East London. This marathon goes beyond a race; it is an awareness campaign addressing the critical issue of underage drinking, following the tragic incident in June 2022 where 21 young individuals, aged 13 to 17, lost their lives at a local pub in Scenery Park, East London. Participants chose from three race options: 21.1 km, 5 km, and 2.1 km, all starting and finishing at Beacon Bay Crossing. We sponsored two buses for transportation and provided support on the road to all runners. At Avis Fleet our commitment extends beyond providing mobility solutions; we are dedicated to supporting initiatives that foster positive change in our communities. By partnering with the Eastern Cape Liquor Board, we aim to raise awareness and promote responsible behavior among our youth. The Fund prioritises GBV hotspots, strategically allocating resources to communities with the highest occurrences of violence, based on reported sexual offenses per police station. It aims to be a trusted partner and amplifier that connects and convenes stakeholders, to accelerate action and accountability on gender-based violence and femicide.   Avis Fleet has committed to a 12-month sponsorship providing two Nissan X-trail vehicles as part of the agreement. The co-branded vehicles will play a prominent role in various events and campaigns throughout the sponsorship period, providing the necessary support to the fund across the country.
