This is a beautiful shot of our solar plant project in Somalia. We completed this small project with our Somalian partners as an EPC-style execution over two separate sites for a total of about 5MW. It's a tricky environment to operate in, that is for sure. Although we have not done major solar plant work, we are taking on increasingly large solar plant consulting and project management projects in various countries. I had a nice drone shot of the plant during dusk (from where this image), creating a hauntingly beautiful look over the desert. But for the life of me, I cannot find it. When I do, I will post that here as well. -- I often post on engineering, business, and culture and where they might overlap. Some progress photos on our domestic sewage treatment plant for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project (EACOP). We are delivering three plants with a processing capacity of 0.56 m3/hr each. They are designed to be shipped modularly. You are looking at the dosing, anoxic (with agitator, which plays a crucial role in removing nitrogen and carbon from the wastewater), membrane, storage and aeration tanks. Plenty of knowledge has been gained on membrane systems. Not to mention navigating Chinese and EN standards. This is extremely helpful as our work expands internationally, and we service many more projects from China. Local training and skills transfer programs are also about to kick off for young Tanzanian and Ugandan nationals, not only on this project but also by providing them with experience on our existing construction sites in Tanzania. -- I often post on engineering, business, and culture and where they might overlap. A nice little video of our 5.2 MW gas-fired water bath heater under fabrication. Designed, engineered and fabricated in-house. We have the capability to provide turnkey pressure vessel solutions to our clients worldwide, particularly our African clients, due to the strategic location of our facilities in the northern part of South Africa. -- I often post on engineering, business, and culture and where they might overlap. Congratulations to our East African team for passing the pressure test on one of the four boilers we are busy fabricating. EPCM Holdings is building the refinery process and boiler facilities, including four tanks, on an EPC basis. The pressure test for the second Boiler is planned for mid- to end-October. (The client and exact location are confidential. Sorry!) Have a good weekend

New Project Award: Just Transition for Africa I’m excited to announce that EPCM Holdings, renowned not only for its strength in the EPC sector but also as a trusted advisor and consultant in energy, has signed a significant contract with the African Energy Commission of the African Union. EPCM Holdings will be conducting a comprehensive study on the potential for a regional domestic oil and gas market across Africa's five regions, covering all 54 countries. If strategically developed, Africa has considerable oil and gas reserves and undeveloped resources that can assist the continent‘s economic growth. Today marks the start of this important initiative, with the inception meeting for the Eastern Africa regional study being held in Arusha, Tanzania. The following countries will be investigated in the Eastern Africa regional study: Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, DRC, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda. #justtransition #africa #oilandgas

A beautiful shot of our 2 x 18,000m3 HFO tanks in Coega, South Africa, taken at the official opening yesterday. Orion is the operator. Not shown is the associated 5.2km 16" electrical heat traced pipeline. The tanks have steam heating. We executed the project EPC/Turnkey style. The design teams were led by Carlien Pretorius in our Pretoria Head Office and the construction teams were overseen by Jan van der Walt. The tanks and pipelines were declared a National Key Point by the South African government. Contact Carlien and Jan if you would like to know more about this completed project. For other cooperation on other projects get in touch with Menno Gazendam. __ All potential vendors can registered their interest with vendors@epcmholdings.com and job applicants with careers@epcmholdings.com.

Pre-inspection on-site for a hot tapping job about to start. The client, a large African power utility, needed some equipment isolated without shutting down its operation. We use the hot tapping drilling tool to cut into a live operating line to make new connections and/or isolate and bypass elements. Many clients do not even know this is an option on their lines or tanks (whatever the product inside). We can cut into these systems without disrupting operations - from tiny to massive lines. This particular tap was a 36” tap on a 48" cooling water line and a class 150 system. We also built the machine you see here. It has a range of 18" to 48" --   I often post on engineering, business, and culture and where they might overlap. Also, updates on the business we are building over at EPCM Holdings

Construction recently re-started on EPCM Holdings' high-end luxury retirement resort in Simon's Town, South Africa.      The one is already completed, and construction is ongoing on the building on the second building.      The unfinished building will have 53 units, plus a frail care facility with 11 units. The ground floor will have common areas and shops, as well as a basement for parking.      Some of the owners in the completed unit showed me their apartments—they're beautiful inside, and the views over the ocean are incredible.      This is our own development, and we envisage three more of these buildings towards the back.      We use our own civil teams to do the construction. --   I often post on engineering, business, and culture and where they might overlap.
