It’s official. We have completed the acquisition of Osisko Mining, which gives Gold Fields 100% ownership of the Groupe Minier Windfall. Like Osisko, we are fully committed to developing the Windfall project to the benefit of all stakeholders. This is the new Minetruck MT66 S eDrive, introduced by Epiroc at the recent MINExpo INTERNATIONAL - and it's coming to Gold Fields next year. We will be trialling it at our Granny Smith mine in Western Australia. Trials like these are part of continuing to explore ways to mine smarter, safer, more efficiently and sustainably. The MT66 has a higher maximum payload and increased speed compared to other high-capacity mine trucks. It also reduces fuel consumption by up to 7% thanks to the electric drivetrain. Our EVP of Sustainability, Mariëtte Steyn, shared her career journey at the 2024 WIMWA (Women in Mining and Resources WA ) Summit, offering valuable insights on finding belonging and purpose in the mining industry -something we work to ensure for all our people. ☀️Pacific Energy has been chosen to build the 35MW solar farm at our St Ives mine in Western Australia.☀️ As part of our largest renewables project yet, which also includes 42MW of wind power, the solar farm is a key step towards mining greener, more efficiently, and cheaper. When operational, the project will deliver 70% renewable energy for St Ives and cut its carbon emissions by around 50% by 2030. We’re pleased to announce that 99% of Minière Osisko / Osisko Mining's shareholders have approved our acquisition of the company. With only a few regulatory approvals outstanding, the deal is expected to be finalised towards the end of the month. This will give Gold Fields full control of Osisko’s world-class Groupe Minier Windfall project and surrounding exploration lands. The high-sulphidation epithermal systems in the Moquegua area in the southern Peru Andes mountains are one of the places where Diego and his team are currently exploring. These systems contain significant gold and silver deposits and typically form in volcanic regions near the earth’s surface.
