We are delighted to announce that we have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA). This partnership aims to fast-track the economic inclusion of unemployed youth in retail and manufacturing, by expanding the reach of our industry-led skills development programmes. This partnership highlights a strong commitment from the public and private sectors to combat South Africa's high youth unemployment rate.   "Working alongside Mr Price Foundation will enable us to expand opportunities for young people in a more strategic and sustainable way. Eleven unemployed youth graduated from our five-month JumpStart Production Programme in Durban, co-funded by the Industrial Development Corporation as part of the R-CTFL Master Plan 2030. These grads can now access employment opportunities or start their own businesses as multi-skilled sewing machinists!

Through our EduRise programme, we invested R4,6 million into holistic education in FY2024, impacting 40 primary schools in KwaZulu-Natal. We are proud that 85% of the educators at these schools are women. This is how we are giving South African youth a brighter start in life! Through our UpLift programme, we invested R8,7 million into youth entrepreneurship in FY2024, supporting 154 entrepreneurs  (66% are women!) with technical skills incubation, business mentorship and training across various sectors including agriculture and waste management. This Women's Month, we shine the spotlight on the amazing young women who we are proudly empowering through the Creative Entrepreneurship Programme. This 12-week course is a collaboration between our JumpStart skills development programme and the African Academy of Fashion in Cape Town. These young fashionistas will add to the tally of over 5,700 women empowered by Mr Price Foundation in the 2024 financial year alone.
