Trading densities at community and smaller shopping centres were a bright spot in the second quarter of 2024, running counter to a further contraction in retail property performance and supporting an important current theme of community and global wellness. That’s according to the Clur Shopping Centre Index, part of the broader Clur Collective asset management support platform which helps listed and unlisted property funds to understand asset health and optimise returns at more than 4.1 million sqm of prime retail space and 140 merchandising categories across SA and Namibia. This coverage will soon be increasing to over 5.4 million square metres. Belinda Clur, managing director of Clur International (Pty) Ltd, which produces the index says the Q2 2024 national Clur Index for All Centres closed at an annualised trading density of R41,343 /sqm, and y/y% growth of 3.6%. #Retail #ShoppingCentres #CommercialRealEstate #ClurInternational https://lnkd.in/dw6TFAvX

Bull Brand, one of South Africa’s most iconic food brands, has launched a new limited edition heritage pack for its corned meat. The new visually appealing pack is aimed at celebrating South African heritage, the brand’s 67-year history. Bull Brand has held a special place in South African hearts and homes since 1957. The older among its fans will remember the ‘bu bu bu Bull Brand’ TV adverts, which captured the nation’s imagination as young boys (dubbed in men’s voices) sang about the product’s meaty virtues. Sixty-seven years on and this illustrious brand still occupies the number one spot as the market leader in canned meat and meals category. #FoodBrands #HeritageBrands #PackagingDesign #BullBrand https://lnkd.in/dZtcjn6N

Your small or medium-sized retail business has survived COVID-19, load shedding, and the cost of living crisis. Perhaps you’ve even managed to diversify your offering or buy new sites during the past few years, as challenging as they were. And now, with the economy moving into a new phase, you’re ready to start growing—which requires quick access to opportunity capital. The key to managing cash flow and optimising the use of capital in these conditions is finding the right financing instrument and partner for your retail growth goals, says Steven Heilbron, CEO of Capital Connect, a fintech that offers fast and flexible business funding to South African retailers. #Retail #Financing #CashFlow #OpportnuityCapital #CapitalConnect https://lnkd.in/dvScMnx4
