Like previous ones, we are really looking forward to the conference. Such platforms presents a crucial opportunity for community-based organizations to showcase their expertise, best practices, and community-driven solutions through abstract submissions. We recognize CBOs as collaborative partners and key drivers of implementation science at the community level. Through our human-centered approach, we work alongside these organizations, leveraging their deep-rooted knowledge and lived experiences to identify health gaps, document best practices, and push community-led solutions to the forefront. Our ongoing commitment to capacity building and mobilization has seen CBOs successfully translate their work into evidence-based abstracts, amplifying community voices in national and global dialogues, with a good success rate from the previous conferences. As we prepare for SA AIDS 2025, we continue to support and strengthen CBOs in writing and submitting high-quality abstracts that reflect their impact, best practices, innovations, and leadership in HIV response. This conference is not just an academic platform, it is a space for communities to take charge of their narratives, advocate for policy change, and drive meaningful solutions towards our NSP agenda. The insights from the NCD Alliance Global Forum in Kigali reinforce the urgent need for people-centered, community-led solutions in tackling the growing burden of non-communicable diseases. Based on experience, we firmly believe that Human-Centered Design must be at the core of NCD interventions, ensuring that communities take the lead in shaping their own health solutions. Collaboration remains key, and the role of civil society organizations in integrating NCD care, mobilizing resources, and advocating for sustainable financing cannot be overstated. Noting, fostering trustful, multi-sectoral collaborations that empower those with lived experiences to co-create solutions. As the global health community prepares for the #UNHLM4, we are also committed to strengthening community leadership, participatory community led research, and system-wide integration of NCD services. We recognize that sustainable health outcomes, particularly in addressing Advanced HIV Disease, require systems strengthening through collaboration with community-based organizations and relevant institutions. The IMPAACT4HIV project’s focus on improving access to diagnosis, prevention, and treatment aligns with our commitment to ensuring that communities are at the center of health solutions, leveraging expertise, behavioral science interventions, and a human-centric approach. We are strong advocates and believe that, CBOs are not just implementers, they are expert partners who possess deep contextual knowledge, lived experience, and trust within communities. Hence in most of our implementation science work, we strategically collaborate with CBOs to bridge the gap between healthcare systems and communities, ensuring that interventions are evidence-driven, culturally responsive, and sustainable. Through a community-led research agenda, we elevate implementation science at the grassroots level, capturing real-world evidence to inform programmatic improvements. This goes to documenting best practices, where we shift the narrative, placing community voices at the forefront of program design. Through our behavioral science-informed approaches, communities themselves can identify and address these gaps, ensuring enhanced uptake and retention in care. We actively work to strengthen the care cascade by integrating human-centered design, participatory research, and multi-sectoral collaboration, amplifying community-led solutions and positioning CBOs as key players in health system resilience and equity. Ultimately, transforming AHD outcomes requires shifting from top-down models to collaborative, community-led implementation strategies. We had the privilege of conducting an Abstract Writing Workshop in Free State, in collaboration with the Provincial Council on AIDS. The session reinforced the power of community-led research in shaping evidence-based programming, influencing policy, and strengthening advocacy within the HIV/AIDS response. Empowering community voices through research & documentation We continue to capacitate community-based organizations to document their work, produce abstracts, and transition from implementers to thought leaders. Through owning their narratives, CBOs not only enhance professional credibility but also drive meaningful change in program implementation science. This initiative aligns with the National Strategic Plan by ensuring that lived experiences inform interventions, strengthen community systems, and scale up innovative approaches and community led research agenda.
