I help organizations secure grant funding and amplify their impact | Grant Specialist | Persuasive Storyteller
What if your nonprofit’s biggest problem isn’t funding but invisibility? Let me tell you a quick story. I worked with a nonprofit doing incredible work. They were feeding families, sending kids to school, and transforming lives in ways you’d think funders would line up to support. But when funders looked them up? Here’s what they found: 💠 No website. 💠 No compelling stories. 💠 No proof of their success. It wasn’t that their mission wasn’t powerful—it’s that no one knew about it. The hard truth is that being the best-kept secret is holding nonprofits back. 1️⃣ Funders can’t fund what they can’t see. 2️⃣ Great impact means nothing if it’s invisible. In today’s world, visibility = funding. This is what funders want now: 💠 A presence that builds confidence (strong websites, clear messaging, consistent updates). 💠 Stories that make them feel the impact—not just see the data. 💠 Proof that their investment will create lasting change. If you want funding, your story has to be bigger than the grant application. What’s the #1 thing your nonprofit is doing (or struggling with) to stay visible? #grantswriting #fundraising #Leadership, #NonprofitWork, #Impact

Early in my career, I spent a lot of time creating communications that had no impact. I was in SOS mode: Sending Out Stuff. I took orders from colleagues without any comms plan in place. ➡️ “I need a poster” ➡️ “Write me a blog” ➡️ “Post this in the newsletter” I was firefighting every day. I had an endless to-do list. It was painful and frustrating. When I began using a communications planning framework, things became easier. It put basic rules in place to follow. ✅ Every communication needs a clear objective ✅ Being sure we can measure and evaluate success ✅ Getting clear on the audience that needs this information I learned the hard way that you need a structured way of working to get out of SOS mode. Here’s a simple 5-step framework for developing a communications plan that will get you more organised and create more impactful communications. –––– 🚫 Don’t let an algorithm decide what you read; join 5,167 readers who get my weekly internal comms tips straight to their inbox. ⬆️ Click "Try my free newsletter" on my page to sign up.
