What: 4th Annual Gala When: November 8th | 6:30 PM Where: Taglyan Complex, Los Angeles The Center for Truth and Justice (CFTJ) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in November 2020 in response to the Artsakh war. This group of dedicated lawyers focuses on collecting firsthand testimonial evidence from war survivors through in-depth, recorded interviews. CFTJ operates a law clinic in Armenia, where they train law students and young lawyers to interview survivors and document their stories. To date, CFTJ has conducted hundreds of interviews and trained nearly 100 current and future legal professionals. CFTJ’s notable work includes a successful ICC communication submission that amplifies victims' voices, hosting a groundbreaking international conference in Yerevan, Armenia to address human rights issues for the 3rd year in a row, and most recently, facilitating a Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission hearing by bringing a delegation of lawyers, victims, and relatives of the fallen from Artsakh to Washington, D.C. The Daghlian siblings, all recent Caltech alumni, are continuing their PhD studies at the institute. Patill (BS '24) is focused on experimental particle physics and dark matter, Saren (BS '24) is contributing to the DSA-2000 radio telescope, and George (BS '20) is specializing in bioengineering for brain tumor imaging in a joint MD/PhD program with UCLA. They credit their success to Caltech’s community, mentorship, and scholarships, while staying connected to their Armenian roots through outreach and mentoring.
