Last week saw our team mark 18 years of Aide de MD! This milestone is a testament to the team's dedication in delivering programs that continuously meet the needs of our participants. We work hard to understand the challenges faced by our participants, with an abundance of programs developed over the years that can meet their diverse requirements, and also the flexibility to create bespoke workshops when the need arises. We are proud to have grown with many of our participants, developing their skills and confidence through our programs over the years, and equally look forward to building new relationships for many years ahead! #anniversary #celebration #training #workshops #leadershipprograms Alison Billaud Brigid Asquith-Hunt MAICD Sarah Bernie Andrew Gemmell Nikki Heald Angela Middleton (GAICD) Chantelle Hoare Charlotte Rimmer GAICD

Thrilled to share a few memorable moments from last week’s trip to Thailand, where our MD, Charlotte Rimmer GAICD took the opportunity to finish a business trip with some R&R. The much deserved break meant daily massages, yoga and clean food, truly exemplifying the importance of balancing hard work with rest and relaxation. #rest #relaxation #rejuvenate #energy Alison Billaud Brigid Asquith-Hunt MAICD Sarah Bernie Andrew Gemmell Nikki Heald Angela Middleton (GAICD) Chantelle Hoare

We all have influence. In this clip from Aide de MD’s recent webinar ‘Tackling Difficult Conversations’, James Griffin MP acknowledges that whilst we may not all have authority to make change, just by raising the fact you want to have a difficult conversation, highlights your influence. Leaders shouldn’t try to use their influence to get people to just do what they want – instead, they should focus on building collaborative relationships that are win-win for all. A good leader builds authentic, supportive relationships that can help all parties succeed. Our workshops explore having difficult conversations and considers all angles of what makes a good leader. Troubleshooting, problem-solving, sounding board discussions and making genuine connections. In this article, our MD Charlotte Rimmer GAICD explores the benefits of face-to-face meetings. #communication #accountability #collaboration #strategy
Managing Director @ Aide de MD Pty Ltd | Company Director, Business Mentor, Workshop Facilitator, Leadership Specialist, Leadership Strategist
A few weeks ago, we held a workshop with three partners from Umlaut Solutions. We spent three days working together on communication, accountability, and strategy. The wide-ranging discussions evolved down unexpected paths, recognising the value of being in a room together. With one partner Shane Reid, based in the UK, Scott Brewster in Sydney, and Mark Elgar in Melbourne, it's a rare treat to collaborate closely. Troubleshooting, problem-solving, sounding board discussions, and making genuine connections are difficult to do remotely. There are many conversations currently about the need for adjustments following COVID-19 enforcement. In my view, the amount of flexibility and remote work you can handle strongly depends on the requirements of your role. If you can't see your team, you miss out on all those valuable moments walking to and from meetings or having the team genuinely interested in other people's lives. It is often difficult to ask for an extra few minutes if you know that your peer is in "back-to-back" meetings (an unacceptable response in my book, but that's another conversation). So, how do you say I would love to hear your views/throw ideas around/challenge my thoughts when it's an impulse-led discussion? Back to the Umlaut team, it was a productive and effective investment of their time and commitment to developing long-term strategy—and this can't be undervalued. With thanks to Ruth Sparkes, Daniel Butchart, Adam Gainsford and the team at The IRIS Group of Companies, Hotel Steyne is - a great location for a casual, well-catered off-site in a fabulous location. Few factors can have a greater impact on a company's success than providing employees with learning opportunities. The Forbes study Charlotte Rimmer GAICD refers to found that when companies offer comprehensive training programs, they have 218% higher income per employee than companies without formalized training. These companies also enjoy a 24% higher profit margin. We all know this, and we do need facts to support decision-making. Budgets are tight, and business leaders I know are savvy, which is why investing in your team is a game-changer. Great article in Forbes "a recent study found that when companies offer comprehensive training programs, they have 218% higher income per employee than companies without formalized training. These companies also enjoy a 24% higher profit margin."

Our MD Charlotte Rimmer's thoughts on AI:- I think it’s exciting! I ran a leadership conference in India late last year, and their primary learning focus was AI. 300 highly skilled tech people in one place discussing the benefits and costs of AI – fascinating. Whilst so much has changed already in this space, I learnt the following: AI can and should be used to enhance your business. We now use an amazing tool, which sees entire sessions of 4 hours recorded and summarised with Key Points, Next Agenda Items and Action Points. It saved us all time and is easy to reference. AI will not take my job! I knew this anyway but was reminded that EQ and critical thinking is not an AI skillset so I’m safe. It will, however, allow me to process work so that I can invest more time in my relationships. Love language and use it wisely. Language is very important to me because I am passionate about what it can do. I have been brought up to use it effectively and recognise the benefits of nuance and repetition. AI will not hear tones, understand sarcasm or read body language – all skills that are classified as “human”. It will however write me a checklist or a procedure manual to ensure that we are compliant. Charisma and presence. AI does not have “presence”. It may provide a list of incentives, but it won’t understand the people well enough to know who would be motivated by what. It will not read the room or see restlessness and respond accordingly. What do I need to do to embrace AI? Improve my simplistic language, understand how to use the tools better and outsource tasks where I can. Keep learning, find out what it can do and how it can benefit me. Be realistic, it’s not going to give me a whole free day at the beach, but it can help me to manage my time more effectively by driving process. Develop my creative and personal skills – this will continue to differentiate Aide de MD from businesses which solely provide formulaic solutions, a consistent strategy. 2024 has been exciting and I cannot wait to see how I feel when I reflect on this article in 2025, and wonder whether I have done enough to take advantage of this new world opportunity. What are you doing to embrace AI? #leadershipcoaching #AI #humanenergy #successfulpeople #betterleaders Alison Billaud Brigid Asquith-Hunt MAICD Sarah Bernie Andrew Gemmell Nikki Heald Angela Middleton (GAICD) Chantelle Hoare
