It’s RUOK day today and I am reflecting on my understanding of the day and how I can influence or be more considerate during the bidding process. As I get older, I witness and learn more, understand more, and recognise that the bidding dynamic can be sometimes unpredictable and at the same time, that life throws its challenges at us both professionally and personally. What is in our control though is to plan well, run our standard best practice processes (the tried and tested ones that we know work), look for efficiencies (consider new technology or approaches that takes away some of the heavy lifting) and know that we always do our best with the time and the resources we have. For the perfectionist in me this last point is incredibly pertinent. Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope everyone is finding their own path to balance and doing well. And, us bid and proposal professionals rock! Tania Field - APMP ANZ Chair

We had an insightful and engaging discussion in our recent webinar on the intricate relationship between AI and human communication. Thank you to AutogenAI and Annelies Tjetjep, and everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation! We explored how AI can significantly enhance human convenience but emphasised the importance of responsible AI development. From addressing bias and ensuring diversity in AI teams to safeguarding privacy and promoting creativity, we covered some of the most pressing issues in the AI landscape and that bids and proposals professionals are encountering more and more. Key Takeaways Human-Centric AI: We emphasised that AI development must prioritize human needs, ensuring that technology enhances rather than replaces human experiences. Communication Evolution: Reflecting on historical advancements in communication, we highlighted the importance of AI in fostering better human interaction. Diversity in AI Teams: The necessity of diverse teams in developing AI that is representative and minimises bias. Ethical AI Development: Addressing bias, ensuring transparency, and protecting privacy are crucial for maintaining trust in AI technologies. Guardrails for AI: Establishing ethical "guardrails" and legal compliance measures to prevent harm is vital for responsible AI development. Balancing Innovation and Ethics: The ongoing challenge of balancing technological innovation with ethical responsibilities, particularly in addressing job displacement and fostering creativity. Thank you again to all our members, participants and speakers for making this webinar a success. Members: check your email for your video recording of the webinar. Stay tuned for an announcement of our October Webinar! #APMPANZ #AI #HumanCentricAI #EthicalAI #Innovation #Webinar #TechnologyAndEthics #Bidwriting #Proposalwriting
