Picture this: a room buzzing with curiosity, the scent of fresh coffee in the air, and our brilliant Senior Askable+ Researcher, Emily B., standing at the helm. That was the scene at our latest Askable Lunch & Learn with the wonderful Kmart Australia Limited crew. 🛍️ Emily took the Kmart team on a journey through the art of stellar user research, exploring what makes an interview truly shine. There were role-playing exercises, eye-opening tips, and more than a few ‘aha’ moments. So, what does a good user interview really look like? According to Emily, good interviewers: 🌟  Ask open-ended questions 🌟  Demonstrate empathy and understanding 🌟  Probe for specifics 🌟  Make eye contact, nod, and use appropriate facial expressions 🌟  Use a warm and friendly tone of voice 🌟  Are patient and don’t rush Shout out to our #Askable crew Ben Wood, Thomas Kenworthy, and Mason Fletcher who helped make the magic happen in Melbourne. Kudos to Emily for her expert guidance and a huge thank you to Ingrid M., Octavia Maddox, and the Kmart team for jumping in with both feet. Your enthusiasm made the session a blast! We can't wait to see how these newfound skills elevate your research game. Keep asking, keep learning, and keep discovering. 🚀 #kmart #uxresearch #userexperience #customerinsights

Hadn't been to an in-person meetup in a while, but last night I attended the meetup organized by Askable - it reminded me how satisfying it is to chat with other design practitioners and discuss topics that matter to us. It was also a great opportunity to pick up my sketchnoting again :) Captured some great insights from Emma Alderson Miguel Montiel and Richard Dobson - thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the next one!
