1st Armoured Regiment, the Royal Australian Military Police and the Australian Army Band Sydney welcomed King Charles and Queen Camilla to Sydney Harbour. Soldiers formed the Monarch’s Reception Guard, greeting the royal couple on the Man O’War Steps at the Sydney Opera House. Guard Commander LTCOL Jake Penley said the moment built on the Regiment’s long history with the King. “This has been one of my proudest moments in Defence as the Regiment, together with members of the RACMP from around Australia, have come together to form an Honour Guard for the King and Queen. It was a fantastic day for the men, women, and veterans of the 1st Armoured Regiment as we formalised our position as a Special Relationship Organisation with His Majesty King Charles III and presented our Standard to him once again. It was also a historic event for the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police who had the opportunity to parade in front of their Colonel-in-Chief, Her Majesty the Queen.” 📸 SGT Tristan Kennedy
