HIDDEN GEM | The Dittmer Project Not many of us would know that 20km west of Proserpine, nestled in the green mountains, sits the Dittmer mine. Past the fields filled with cows and the township of Dittmer, sits some of the Greater Whitsunday region’s own piece of goldrush history. Today GW3 went underground to the historic and high-grade Dittmer mine, not this time at the coal face, but rather hoping to strike it gold. The Dittmer Project is lead by Ballymore Resources and we were lucky enough to have Director of Operations Andrew Gilbert as our tour guide. The mine was discovered in 1934 and at one time had the highest grade of gold in Australia. We learnt miners of the past would walk into the mine and follow the trails and find rocks, with the hope of finding gold. Fast forward to today and Ballymore are investing in the region by taking advantage of modern exploration of the mine. This is the first time new technologies, from soil testing to drilling are being used to unlock the future opportunities that lie within its rock. And the potential is golden, as it raises new possibilities for our workforces and supply chains, but also avenues to explore around reprocessing and Post Mining Land Use solutions. Ballymore Resources was an active participant in the EnviroMETS event titled “What to Do with a Hole in the Ground.” Held at the Resources Centre of Excellence during the Queensland Mining Exhibition in Mackay. This event focused on sustainable mining practices and post-mining land use opportunities. Ballymore shared its pioneering approaches to environmental stewardship while global expert Peter Abrutat showcased successful projects where former mining sites have been transformed into valuable community assets and ecosystems.

Ballymore has released its Quarterly Report for the quarter ended 30 June 2024. Download our Quarterly Report here https://lnkd.in/ghRg_zcn Highlights Dittmer Stage 4 drilling completed with all holes successfully intersecting the targeted Duffer bonanza gold lode. Highlights include: Drill hole DTDD031 2.9m @ 16.01g/t Au Drill hole DTDD034 3.0m @ 19.50g/t Au Drill hole DTDD040 8.0m @ 8.36g/t Au Inc 4.8m @ 13.68g/t Au Inc 0.3m @ 193.45g/t Au Deeper holes such as DTDD039 and DTDD040 continue to suggest the lode structure is widening at depth. Mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth. Initial surface drilling program at Dittmer is underway and is testing the significant geochemical anomaly which may represent an extension of the known copper-gold zone. CEI-funded low level heli-borne gradient magnetic and radiometric survey underway.
