🎶 Building a Team is Like Conducting a Symphony! 🎶 Last night, our Concept to Creation (C2C) cohort had the absolute privilege of hearing from the incredible Bourby Webster, a true powerhouse in leadership, teamwork, and vision. As the founder of Perth Symphony Orchestra and North Street Music, Bourby knows exactly what it takes to bring people together and create something extraordinary. She shared her journey of building a team from the ground up, fostering a strong community, and ensuring every member is aligned with the mission. Key takeaway Building a team isn’t just about skills, it’s about resilience, passion, and shared values. When your team is in sync, it’s like a well-orchestrated symphony, where every person plays their part in perfect harmony. A huge thank you to Bourby for sharing her wisdom! Who has been the biggest inspiration in your journey of team-building? #Leadership #Teamwork #ConceptToCreation #Inspiration

“Technology makes the scarce abundant” This was just one of the views shared this morning as Edith Cowan University hosted an engaging discussion as part of the National Innovation Policy Forum. In a historic West Australian setting, ECU Vice-Chancellor Clare Pollock expertly set the scene while local innovators Eric May, Katharine Giles, Eugênia Phegan and Mike Jones shared insights from their own respective journeys. Now more than ever we need to be bold and chart a course for new industry creation and economic diversification. Forums like this help to illuminate the pain points and develop solutions. Thank you to all involved! #NIPF2025

The 12 P's of effective communication. There is no better way to commence another Concept to Creation cohort than to have James Lush deliver his recipe for successful communication. There was great energy in the room last night as James teased engaging and often highly personal stories out of our budding entrepreneurs. The evening was rounded out with an authentic, fire-side chat with Vendaly founder Emily Zaborski, Switch Technologies founder Mike O'Hanlon and Health and Spice founder Neetha Lakshman. Under the expert guidance of Min Sheen Tan, we're excited to see how this cohort develops over the coming months. #innovation #startups

There was a great mix of people from technical and investment backgrounds as CERI Resident WaveX: Wave Powered Generators held its Investor Symposium. Founder and CEO Simon Renwick led proceedings, marking the official launch of WaveX’s SEED round. WaveX is seeking investment to complete the next stage of its development pathway to produce wave energy on a global scale. The next stage includes the deployment of a large-scale steel prototype in southern WA and demonstration of consistent and reliable electricity production. The lively Q&A session highlighted the level of interest in WaveX’s work, and the numerous attendees from the oil and gas sector indicated a strong desire to shift towards renewable energy. If you are interested in investing in WaveX or would like more information about their work visit: https://lnkd.in/geRU5bf7 Toby Swingler Matthew Allen Tracie Clark Neil Siford Tim Green #renewableenergy #waveenergy

Congratulations to CERI Resident Novolo which has started the journey with the India Australia Rapid Innovation and Startup Expansion (RISE) Accelerator. Co-Founders Hugh Nguyen and Dr Chiragkumar D. recently travelled to India for a week of in-person learning, networking, and collaboration with fellow RISE Accelerator participants and experts-in-residence. Novolo is tackling the stability problem associated with roasted coffee. Their technology ensures optimal flavour, reduces waste, and significantly extends the shelf life of roasted coffee beans from 10 days to more than six months. The RISE Accelerator is designed to support startups and SMEs with innovative environment and climate technologies to expand into new markets.
