Construction is underway at the Sydney Charles Quarter development in the Pickle District 🚜 The 2.2-hectare site, bounded by Charles Street, Newcastle Street, Golding Street and Old Aberdeen Place in West Perth, will be transformed into a modern six-building village-style precinct. The development will include commercial spaces, a supermarket, office, retail shops, hospitality businesses and apartments. Our CEO David MacLennan joined APPL Group and PACT Construction representatives at a sod-turning ceremony on 12 March to mark the start of the building works. The City of Vincent encompasses a number of vibrant inner-city suburbs, including North Perth, Leederville, Highgate and Mount Hawthorn, plus parts of East Perth, West Perth, Perth City and Mount Lawley. Riding in tandem with the increasing popularity of inner-city living, Vincent's shopping precincts have thrived and become popular café strips for residents and visitors alike. Vincent's population has also developed into a wonderfully rich melting pot of cultures and nationalities, which has contributed to its unique diversity. One-year on since the launch of GreenTrack, we’ve seen a rise in sustainable home builds and renovations 🏡 Since the priority assessment service launched in 2024, we’ve received 16 applications. These projects helped us achieve: ✅ Average 61 per cent saving of global warming potential. ✅ Average 54 per cent saving of net water use. ✅ Double the amount of sustainable single house and group dwellings development applications from 10 to 21 per cent.
