ELGAS congratulates TRANSAFE WA for winning the Australian Road Safety Foundation 2024 Rural Road Safety Award. The iNSTRUCKTA! tours schools and communities in Western Australia to educate current and future road users on how to safely interact with heavy vehicles. We are excited that our ELGAS Health Safety and Environment Lead Liana Walsh is a finalist for the 2024 Women in Industry Safety Award to be named in Sydney later this week. At ELGAS our commitment is that everyone will go home safely. Liana plays a key role in training, incident investigations, risk assessments, data analysis, and reporting to help us meet that commitment to our people and communities. Last week ELGAS was proud to support Australian Road Safety Foundation to help launch Fatality Free Friday in Brisbane. It is timely to shine a light on these cold hard facts: - 68% of drivers admit to breaking road laws - 1,273 lives were lost on Australian roads in 2023 - 52% of lives lost last year on Aussie roads were not drivers We encourage everyone to listen to the message of ARSF CEO and Founder Russell White that every road user holds the key to a fatality-free future. ARSF is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to reducing road fatalities and injuries through innovative road safety awareness programs, driver education, advocacy and research assistance.
