Last week I was officially appointed one of six Aboriginal taskforce advisors to the Minister for Aboriginal affairs in NSW. I’m extremely honoured and proud to be in such a position and play a part in helping build prosperity and economic development in our communities and families through business development. I’m playing my part in a journey that my old people started a long time ago. I have been in business almost 3 decades & have plenty of lived experience in this space. Our voice and knowledge has to be now recognised. I’m extremely excited about this role and being able to support our people and our future generations to come.

Ngarrindjeri country runs west from Cape Jervis, past Kangaroo Island, and east to Cape Jaffa, along the Younghusband Peninsula, straddling the Murray River Mouth, where you can find kuti midden sites pocketed in the dunes that date back to over 8500 years ago. Congratulations Nathan Lovett and your growing native Bushfood business Naway Yila Buradja on your progress so far. IndigiGrow is beginning an exciting collaboration with this First Nations native food business by providing 100 female and 50 male Mountain Pepper plants that are being planted at Nathan’s farm area out west. For us at IndigiGrow, this plantation will supply our nursery with a large amount of male and female plant material that we’ll propagate and grow for years to come, but not only that, we are proud to be helping more Aboriginal people enter the Bushfood industry which Aboriginal businesses make up less than 2%. We look forward to this partnership moving forward. We’ll also announce more exciting collaborations with First Nations Bushfood businesses later in the year.
