Catalysing the private sector to accelerate housing for those on very low incomes

About us

Housing All Australians is a private sector group using a commercial lens to help address Australia’s chronic shortage of low-income affordable housing. Bring your voice, networks, goods or services to help vulnerable Australians. Together, we can make a difference. Housing All Australians (HAA) was established in 2019 as a ‘for purpose’ organisation, to facilitate a private sector voice, and re-position the discussion and action on social and affordable housing for those on low to very low incomes. Our commercial lens is like no other charity in this space. We are a group of private sector individuals and corporates with a shared vision that it is in Australia’s long term economic interest to house all Australians, including those on low incomes. Unless we do, we will be leaving a significant burden for future generations, with disastrous economic and social consequences. We are classified as a Public Benevolent Institution with full tax deductibility benefits. Australia’s chronic shortage of affordable, social and public housing is set to create an intergenerational time bomb.

As Brisbane gears up for Olympic glory, a silent crisis looms. In the last 18 months, the number of homeless families has nearly tripled. This isn't just a statistic—it's a glimpse into a future we can still change. "You have 20-25 years left to avoid repeating our mistakes," warns Associate Professor Gregg Colburn from the University of Washington. His recent tour of Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane revealed a chilling truth: our cities are primed for a homelessness explosion. Karyn Walsh, CEO of Micah Projects puts it bluntly: "It's always going to cost, but it's going to cost more if you don't do it." Her organisation, on the frontlines of this battle, sees the human toll daily. The solution? It's not just about individual circumstances—it's about housing. Housing advocates are demanding action: release more public land, increase affordable housing supply, and slash public housing wait lists. But time is running out. "Homelessness is not only a social problem, it's an economic one," says Robert Pradolin GAICD, Executive Director of Housing All Australians. "We're allowing it to be normalised, eroding the fabric of our society. The consequences? We're leaving them to our grandchildren." This isn't just about housing—it's about the future of our cities, our economy, and our national character. Will we act now? The choice is ours. The time is now. Missed it?
