This Saturday marks International Women's Day - a day that celebrates the achievements of women and reminds us of the importance of gender equality. We were thrilled to welcome Australian sporting superstar and key player for the GIANTS AFLW team, Chloe Dalton OAM for a live streamed event attended by our teams around the country and facilitated by Sophia van der Westhuizen from our Victorian Construction team, to talk about how we can address gender inequalities in sport. We recently partnered with the GWS GIANTS and we are delighted to be a key partner in the GIANTS’ AFLW team, championing the growth of female participation in AFL. Chloe is a true Australian trailblazer - Olympic gold medallist; awarded an Order of Australia Medal for Service to Sport; and Founder of The Female Athlete Project - a platform dedicated to addressing gender inequalities in sports media by sharing the stories of incredible female athletes. Chloe said: “Sport has the power to bring joy when we win and heartache when we lose, and I love using sport as vehicle to start a conversation about the things that matter. As athletes, we have the power to educate, inform and inspire people and that’s very powerful.” International Women’s Day allows us as a business, to reflect on the progress we’ve made, but to identify areas where we can strengthen our commitment to gender equality in the workplace. Real change happens when we act upon our reflection.
