Congratulations to Indro’s QCAA Class of 2024 on an incredible year of success! We are proud to share the results our students have achieved. The academic performance of our 2024 Seniors reflects their hard work, commitment and determination to do their personal best, alongside unwavering support from our dedicated teachers and their parents. Here is a snapshot of the outstanding 2024 results: 🎓 4 students achieved an ATAR 99+ 🎓 The Median ATAR for our 2024 cohort is 87.90 🎓 19% of graduates achieved an ATAR 95+ 🎓 42% of graduates achieved an ATAR 90+ 🎓 36.46% of subject results were an ‘A’ 🎓 34 students achieved As in at least 6 general subjects, earning them a QCE Certificate of Academic Commendation 🎓 14 students attained a perfect score of 100 in a subject 🎓 264 VET qualifications were awarded Congratulations to our Class of 2024.

We were delighted to welcome delegates from the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission to Indro yesterday. Acting Executive Principal, Mrs Deirdre Hall, Indro leadership staff, Mr Martin Lock, Director, International Business, Department of Education International, and Mr Jeff Cao, Project Officer, Global Engagement, Department of Education International, met with Mr Zhenfeng Yang, Deputy Director-General of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Ms Hong Sun, Director of Early Childhood Education and Care Department of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Mr Yang Wang, President of Shanghai Teacher Institute, Ms Ying Zheng, Director of Jinshan District Education Bureau, and Ms Huihua He, Associate Dean of Institute of Early Childhood Education of Shanghai Normal University. The delegates enjoyed morning tea and a tour of the school, including learning more about Indro’s Innovative Teaching Practice and QLearn.

Congratulations to Emma Siepen who has been presented with a 2024 QATSIF Deadly Educators Award for her outstanding efforts in supporting our First Nations students at Indro. Emma was presented the award by Troy Gorman, Indro’s Head of International Students and First Nations Department.

Our 2025 Senior Leaders, Jenny Knowles - Deputy Principal Year 12, and Marty Begbie - Head of Year 11, are in Tasmania this week participating in a leadership development course. The students are enjoying team bonding exercises and learning about different forms of leadership as they prepare to lead our school next year.

Celebrating 70 Years of Indro State High School. Ken Austin was a long serving Science Head of Department at Indooroopilly SHS (1972 – 1999). Ken was an early adopter of technology, utilising early generation computers to conduct data analysis before such things were routine in schools. He was instrumental in establishing the school’s rainforest and greenhouse and he was also a passionate and skilled sailor. The Ken Austin Science Award is awarded each year in his honour.

Congratulations to our talented students, Dheep Singh and Annie Huang who feature in a Courier Mail story on Brisbane's Highest Achieving Year 12 students in 2024. Dheep was our announced as Indro's Dux (QCAA) and Annie as our IB Dux at the Academic Awards earlier this term. Their tips for achieving study success are highlighted in the story. Indro Junior School Principal Deirdre Hall (a 2024 TEACHX award winner for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching) and teacher Jade Thompson recently met with the Queensland College of Teachers to discuss our wonderful Therapy Dog program and the support and care these happy hounds provide for both students and staff.
