The Landmark Orthopaedics team had the privilege to attend the Surgical Robotics & Innovation Summit, where Dr. Brett Fritsch Chair of the Orthopaedic Program on Robotics and Innovation, led the discussions. The event was filled with valuable insights into the future of surgical innovation. A big thank you to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital’s Institute of Academic Surgery and Sydney Local Health District for organising such an impactful event. #SurgicalInnovation #Robotics #LandmarkOrthopaedics #OrthopaedicResearch

We were delighted to host Macquarie University’s clinical science students for their PACE placement at Jointli. Lauren, Josh, and Keelin immersed themselves in the dynamic environment of Landmark Orthopaedics, engaging in educational tasks and gaining valuable insights. From viewing orthopaedic consultations at The Knee Institute and following a patient's rehab session at Jointli to exploring cutting-edge technology at Personalised Surgery, they gained a comprehensive view of the patient journey. They also gained insight into ongoing research initiatives, including a demonstration of our advanced motion capture lab and experiencing our return-to-sport testing technologies. Their passion for healthcare and eagerness to learn were truly inspiring. We are confident that these students will make significant contributions to the future of medical science. Best of luck to each of them on their exciting career paths! Injuries are inevitable occurrences in sport. Contemporary models of sports injury aetiology highlight how a combination of risk factors (intrinsic and extrinsic) and their interactions can lead to athletes being susceptible to injury. Whilst research advances allow us to move away from outdated approaches, often reductionist and mechanistic in nature, what can the S&C coach do to minimise intrinsic risk factors? Mitigations of risk is deeply intertwined with sound planning and an overall understanding of factors contributing to injury which we are able control or influence. Effective prioritisation skills and a strong ability to guide behavioral change are essential for implementation. See below for a simple summary of the model developed here at Jointli - Landmark Orthopaedics. The principles are adaptable to both prevention and return to sport following injury.
