WorkHub is our fabulous on-campus internship program, but that doesn't mean we stay in the office! Recently, WorkHub students working on a sustainability project visited Local Brewing Co. to learn about their #sustainability and #socialimpact programs to reduce food waste and contribute to social enterprises like SecondBite. It was an absolute pleasure presenting at the recent National Food Waste Summit hosted by End Food Waste Australia. The energy in the room was palpable, and it was truly inspiring to witness the collective passion and commitment to addressing one of the most pressing issues of our time. We are incredibly excited to join the growing momentum in the fight to end food waste and contribute to Australia’s ambitious goal of halving food waste by 2030. Together, with the collaboration and innovation displayed at the summit, we are confident that we can make significant strides towards a more sustainable and efficient food system. What a week! 🌿🏆 We're absolutely thrilled to be named the 2024 Sustainability Partner of the Year at the Coles Liquor Supplier Awards last week. This is a culmination of the development and scale of our Surplus Series - rescuing surplus fresh bread and excess fruit to upcycle it into tasty beers that donate meals to people in need via SecondBite. It was an absolute pleasure being at GABS FESTIVAL at the Melbourne Showgrounds last weekend! Themed as the LOCAL Grand Slam, we showcased a beer from each of the tennis grand slams celebrating those countries with an activation for over 15,000 festival goers. A well organised event celebrating creativity and innovation in the industry.
