About us

At MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees we are driven by a single purpose – to champion Australia’s skilled trade sector by connecting talented apprentices and trainees with the right jobs that will set them up for successful, rewarding, and long-lasting careers For 30 years we’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of Australians fulfil their long held goal of becoming qualified and sought after skilled tradespeople in their field of choice. We believe investing in people to develop hands-on, “hard” skills will equip the next generation to lay a sustainable foundation for Australia’s future. This means we offer our apprentices the chance to enter a field with the confidence that their skills will be in demand, not just across this country, but often around the world. Updates

  • It’s almost a wrap for the vocational training and apprentice awards season, and in a not so humble brag, we are just so chuffed to see MIGAS apprentices and trainees get the recognition they deserve.   While our category winners have deservedly been in the spotlight, we’d like to again congratulate runners up, Abraham Irwin (Origin Energy), finalist for Instrumentation Apprentice of the Year at TAFE Queensland - Skillstech CSQ - Construction Skills Queensland Apprentice Awards. Likewise, Isabella Bruce (Jaybro) - Trainee of the Year and Jackson Pead BOC South Pacific - First Nations Trainee/Apprentice of the Year, both finalists in the Apprentice Employment Network NSW & ACT Awards. The talent on show this year is undeniable and so are their bright futures.

On Friday night the Apprentice Employment Network NSW & ACT Awards celebrated the New South Wales Group Training network, apprentices and their employers.   In a very well-deserved win, longstanding MIGAS host employer, Bengalla Mining Company Pty Limited, was named Large Host Employer of the Year.   While it came as no surprise to MIGAS State Manager Angela Matthews and our team given the passion for developing people we’ve witnessed at Bengalla, we were absolutely delighted to see them take out the big gong of the night.   Winner, winner chicken dinner! A big congratulations to Cam Halfpenny, Bruce Connelly, Chris Brown, Aaron Caelli and the whole team at Bengalla Mine, and thank you to AEN’s Jason Sultana for your hospitality.
