⚠️ Hot Water Safety ⚠️ People with disability are among those most at risk of scalding burns from hot water. NDIS providers and workers can minimise the risk of scalding burns by ensuring devices that limit hot water temperature are installed and by always checking the water temperature of a bath or shower. Read the comprehensive Practice Alert on Hot Water Safety here https://bit.ly/3PIyCFF. #NDISCommission #NDIS #PracticeAlertMonday #NDISprovider #NDISParticipant #PeopleWithDisability

We use banning orders as a safeguarding tool to protect people with disability from being harmed by fraudulent, dishonest, and unsafe supports and services. Breaching a banning order is a very serious matter and strong action will be taken against businesses and individuals found to be doing so. Providers identified as operating in contravention of a banning order can face significant consequences, with penalties of up to $330,000 for individuals and $1.6 million for companies. We encourage anyone with information about NDIS providers or workers continuing to deliver NDIS supports and services after being issued with a banning order to contact us by phone on 1800 035 544 or via our online complaint form https://bit.ly/41gT07Q. #NDISCommission #NDIS #ComplianceAndEnforcement

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by Tropical Cyclone Alfred in Queensland and Northern NSW. If you’re an NDIS provider in an affected area, now is the time to enact your emergency management plan to ensure you’re able to maintain services to participants in your care. Please be aware that non-urgent hospital appointments may be postponed. Any travel to hospital or other health services should be carefully considered, noting the safety risks posed by extreme weather. Call 000 if a participant is experiencing a critical breakdown in services that puts them at an immediate safety risk. Visit our website for more advice for NDIS providers in affected areas https://bit.ly/4h97ECO.
