“I decided to take the leap into mining, and it's probably been one of the best career choices so far.” As a childcare educator in her early 20s, the thought of driving big trucks around a mine site was not something Kaitlyn thought she’d ever be doing. But after years of encouragement from her dad who worked in the industry, Kaitlyn decided to make the switch and join Newmont Tanami and hasn’t looked back. Although operating large machinery was initially a big learning curve for her, Kaitlyn says getting out of her comfort zone and doing things she could never previously do made it well worth the effort. Now working as a Process Technician, Kaitlyn says knowing that she can work in a variety of different roles on site is what will keep her working at Tanami for a long time – which she says has the best people and an amazing culture. Thinking of a career switch and want to join Australia’s largest gold producer? Check out our current vacancies at jobs.newmont.com.

💡 Did you know that sand is one of the most heavily mined commodities in the world and an essential element in construction, manufacturing and consumer products? Newmont is partnering with The University of Queensland to create a sustainable alternative to sand extraction by transforming unused materials from mining into this valuable resource. Dr Juliana Segura-Salazar and her team are aiming to create a new kind of sand - ore-sand – with the help of Newmon’s Cadia operation, which has supplied hundreds of kilograms of sandy feedstock for functional testing. Early results of the Newmont samples have been promising, with the next step involving the development of a prototype ore-sand and production process. Newmont is proud to partner with researchers to help achieve our purpose of creating value and improving lives through sustainable and responsible mining. #NewmontAustralia #SustainableMining #InnovationInMining #OreSand #CircularEconomy #MiningPartnerships

Newmont Cadia's Project Control team recently put their culinary skills to the test in support of Ronald McDonald House Orange County and Cancer Care Western NSW Lodge. The group prepared a delicious menu featuring spaghetti bolognese, bangers and mash, pumpkin soup, and apricot chicken for families staying at Ronald McDonald House. Another Newmont team from various departments cooked up the same comforting meals for those at the Lodge. This initiative was a heartfelt gesture to provide home-cooked meals for families going through challenging times.   Cadia continues to proudly support these initiatives through its Community Partnership Program, which enables the Cadia workforce to give back to their local community.   #CommunitySupport #NewmontCadia #RonaldMcDonaldHouse #CancerCareLodge #StrongerTogether #MiningAndCommunities

Newmont proudly hosted a site tour at our Boddington mine recently for a group of Year 10 students from Aquinas College, and uni students from the Girls+ in Engineering program at the University of Western Australia. The students had a full day exploring our site, checking out our newly renovated rooms, mess, and gym. They learned about our operations from Kim Scully, Manager of Strategic Engagement, and had lunch with some of our talented graduates and apprentices. Boddington’s General Manager Chris Dark even made a surprise appearance! One of the highlights was the tour of our operations, where the students saw the open pit, witnessed our autonomous haulage trucks in action, and explored our processing facilities. The students impressed us with their insightful questions, and we hope they left feeling inspired to pursue careers in the resources sector! #STEM #EngineeringTheFuture #NewmontBoddington #GetIntoResources #MiningCareers

Newmont Boddington’s environmental team recently attended Koompkinning River Gathering organised by the Peel Harvey Catchment Council (PHCC) to celebrate the river rehabilitation works and honour the cultural significance of this site. Newmont partners with the PHCC on its river restoration project that has been running at the Pumphreys Bridge site since 2022 and is focused on environmental activities to restore and rehabilitate the river. After a thought provoking Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Noongar Elders Nick and Jock Abraham from Wilman (Dryandra) People Corp, it was time for the activities, which included tree planting, a bird survey, and lots of fun for the kids. 🌳 🦆 Thanks to Jordan Wood-Bealing, Paige Bembridge and Louise Merchant for representing Newmont on the day. #NewmontBoddington #NewmontAustralia #EnvironmentalStewardship #SustainableMining #CommunityPartnerships #CulturalHeritage

Production of gold and copper has recommenced at the Telfer mine following the successful completion of the remediation of Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) 8 and the resumption of dual train processing operations.   Newmont’s team has worked tirelessly over several months with external and internal tailings experts and WA regulators so that processing from the Telfer mill could restart safely.   The Telfer processing plant has been undergoing extensive maintenance since April to prepare for a safe and stable restart of processing of stockpiled ore from both the underground and open pit mines that continued throughout the remediation works. These accomplishments cap off a big month for Telfer, following the announcement of a binding agreement to sell Telfer, Newmont’s 70 percent interest in Havieron and other related assets in the Paterson region to Greatland Gold. Congratulations to our Newmont team on these fantastic milestones. Read more: https://bit.ly/4ejpoe1
