We are pleased to announce that our underground mining business, Barminco, has signed a contract extension with IGO to continue mining at the Nova underground nickel mine in the Fraser Range, Western Australia. Barminco’s involvement at the Nova mine commenced in early 2015 when it was a greenfield site. This contract extension is worth $157 million and runs for 29 months. Mark Norwell, Managing Director & CEO of Perenti said “We are immensely proud that Barminco has been present since the beginning of the Nova operation. This contract extension is a testament to the strength of our relationship with IGO and underscores our commitment to collaborating with our clients to generate value together.” Gabrielle Iwanow, President of Contract Mining at Perenti said “Barminco is excited to continue the delivery of the world-class critical minerals operation at Nova. The ongoing safe and reliable mine production showcases how a collaborative approach and willingness to explore innovative solutions can deliver positive outcomes, even amidst significant market challenges.” View full story https://lnkd.in/gumA_rMp

We are pleased that international credit ratings agency Moody’s has upgraded Perenti’s rating from “Ba2: outlook positive” to “Ba1: outlook stable”.   According to Moody's Ratings press release, “The ratings upgrade to Ba1 reflects the strengthening in Perenti’s credit profile, demonstrated by the improvement in underlying operations, financial performance, as well as management’s commitment to operating below its publicly articulated net leverage target of 1x, as measured by net debt/underlying EBITDA.”   In addition, “Perenti's rating upgrade to Ba1 also reflects the company's improved operating performance over the last three years, stemming from its focus on investment grade jurisdictions, quality clients and cost reduction.”   Michael Ellis, Chief Financial Officer of Perenti said, “The upgraded credit rating with Moody’s further demonstrates the ongoing delivery of our 2025 Strategy. Perenti is now only one level from being assessed as investment grade by Moody’s. This improved credit rating is the result of consistent financial and operational performance from the Perenti business over several years and the additional scale from the DDH1 acquisition.”   For more information visit our Investor Centre https://lnkd.in/gAsgpxy7 #investing #mining

We are pleased to announce that Perenti and Sandvik have signed a memorandum of understanding at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL 2024 centered on developing cutting-edge diesel-electric equipment for underground mines. This collaboration aims to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and productivity in underground mining operations. Under the agreement, the companies will work together to optimize underground diesel-electric loaders and trucks. Through Perenti’s leading underground mining business, Barminco the collaboration will focus on improving Barminco’s operations and generating valuable insights and data to further refine Sandvik’s diesel-electric technology. Mark Norwell, Perenti Managing Director & CEO, welcomed the agreement, saying Perenti was excited to explore the full potential of diesel-electric solutions as part of its journey to decarbonisation. Mats Eriksson, President of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, emphasized that the mutual benefits of collaboration often do lead to better products – and safer, more efficient operations. Diesel-electric mining equipment is seen by many within the industry as a way of achieving cleaner, more sustainable and more reliable mining, without the structural changes required for a fully electric operation. Yesterday, we enjoyed our annual session in recognition of R U OK? Day, focused on managing stress and anxiety. Our team came together for the "Thriving Together: R U OK with Stress and Anxiety?" presentation, where we discussed mental health challenges and practical self-care strategies. It’s essential to remind ourselves that mental health matters. Having open conversations and equipping ourselves with the tools to navigate stress and anxiety can make a significant difference, both personally and professionally. Smarter Together, we can create a supportive environment that encourages resilience and well-being. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this important discussion! Let's continue supporting each other beyond R U OK? Day. #mentalhealth #psychologicalsafety #inclusion #mining

Perenti was among the winners honoured at last night’s Australia-Africa Minerals & Energy Group (AAMEG)! Perenti, through its subsidiary Barminco, we won ‘The Established ESG Leader Award for a Resource Services Company’ for the Somelo Poultry Project close to the Khoemacau project in Botswana. The Somelo Poultry Project has evolved from a modest start with 100 chickens to a thriving enterprise now farming 470 chickens and producing more than 300 eggs per week. By involving community members in running the project, Perenti is ensuring that the benefits extend beyond immediate employment to include valuable business skills and experience. The award was jointly accepted by Perenti Chief Corporate Services Officer, Paul Muller, and Barminco Khoemacau Mine Superintendent, Oteng Makutu. Perenti also sponsored the Changemaker Award for a not for profit or charity that truly makes a difference through the work they do in Africa. We were delighted to present the Changemaker award to So They Can a charity working in East Africa that is keeping girls in school and challenging harmful cultural norms. The organisation works in Kenya and Tanzania and has increased girl’s enrolment in schools by 76% nurturing future leaders and engineers. Congratulations to So They Can and all the other nominees in the Changemaker and ESG Leader for a Services Provider categories. #mining #sustainability #africa #australia

At Perenti, we’re proud to highlight the volunteer work of our people. Since 2019, Mithila has been volunteering her time with Shenton Park Dog Refuge and, more recently, Guide Dogs WA. Her passion for helping others was inspired by her parents and further deepened by her father's struggle with glaucoma (which results in vision loss), leading her to support the vital work of Guide Dogs WA. Mithila enjoys watching the puppies she helps train grow into confident guide dogs that provide freedom and independence to those in need. Her dedication and compassion are a true reflection of the values we hold at Perenti – caring for our people and communities. We’re inspired by Mithila's commitment to making a positive impact both at work and in the community and enjoy seeing her four-legged trainees in our office. If you’re considering volunteering, take Mithila's advice: “It’s hard work, but so worth it!” image: Mithila and Ruby (far right) and their colleagues from Guide Dogs WA are enjoying a walk in Perth CBD #sustainability #community #volunteering
