About us

Ramelius Resources Limited (ASX:RMS) is a Western Australian gold producer that has been listed on the ASX since 2003 and in production since 2006. The company-making mine, Wattle Dam, was located approximately 70km south of Kalgoorlie and was at one stage the highest grade gold mine in Australia. It was operated successfully from 2006 to 2013. Ramelius owns and operates the Mt Magnet, Edna May, Vivien, Marda, Tampia and Penny gold mines, and the recently acquired Rebecca Gold Project, all of which are located in Western Australia. Ore from the high-grade Vivien underground mine, located near Leinster, is hauled to the Mt Magnet processing plant where it is blended with ore from both underground and open pit sources at Mt Magnet. The Penny project is currently under development with first ore in late FY22. The Edna May operation is currently processing high grade underground ore, low grade stockpiles, as well as ore from the adjacent Greenfinch open pit and the satellite Marda open pit mines. Ore feed from the Tampia open pit mine commenced in early FY22.

At Ramelius, one of our core values is authenticity. One who regularly exemplifies this is Joel, Open Pit Mine superintendent at our Mt Magnet Gold Mine.  Joel has been a great asset to the Company, and we look forward to seeing the further enhancement of his career at Ramelius in the future. Mt Magnet has been a highly profitable operation for Ramelius, with multiple mining areas and historical production looking to push through 8Moz and beyond during its lifetime. It’s not without our exceptional workforce, that such success would be possible.

  • We are pleased to have released our 2024 Annual Report, highlighting our progression and achievements during the past financial year, which was a record year for Ramelius on many financial and operational metrics, with a strong set of results being recognised. Managing Director / CEO, Mark Zeptner said: "It is with no small amount of pride that I look back on Ramelius’ performance in FY24. For the second year in a row, our financial results were, on just about every metric, an improvement on the prior year."

  • On Friday we received a phone call from MACA Ltd, announcing that we had won the second prize of $25,000 in the 2024 MACA Cancer 200 raffle.   Through the raffle, MACA was able to raise a whopping $104,100 which went towards WA cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.   We’re always eager to reward our workforce, so we divided the prize, awarding $1,000 each to 25 Ramelius employees across the group.   Thanks again MACA & congratulations to our staff members who were the lucky winners!

  • Congratulations to Ramelius’ team Horse Power, who partook in the MACA Cancer 200 ride over the weekend, smashing an epic 200km. The ride drew in approximately 2000 cyclists, raising a record $10.1 million for cancer research!  The two-day event is a strenuous but immensely rewarding journey with stops every 20km that provide bike repairs, first-aid, food and drink.   The Ramelius team were cheered in at the finish line at Optus Stadium yesterday, moving onto the Camfield for a well-deserved cold beer shortly thereafter.

Meet Ryan - Environmental Advisor at our Edna May Gold Mine. After getting his Degree in Environmental Science, he was eager to get into the industry as soon as possible.   It’s great to hear that Ryan feels Ramelius is full of people that really look after you (even if this means looking after you when you get bogged!) Ryan shared his amusing memory of getting bogged at site when he first started at Ramelius, getting rescued by the Processing Trainer who made it his mission in life to remind him every chance he got.   Read more about Ryan here: https://lnkd.in/gabG5ivA

Ramelius was the joint major sponsor for the Southern Cross 2 Day Motorcycle Enduro held last week. The annual event draws in hundreds from different towns in the Wheatbelt and is undoubtably a standout event for the locals. Ramelius staff attended to support the event and assisted with timing the riders at a few of the checkpoints, which spanned across almost 370km of track out in the bush! Our Edna May mine manager was also able to pop down to show support and meet the event hosts. At Ramelius, we believe that a sustainable gold producer should deliver more than just financial benefit. It’s about the way we do business and the relationships we build with not only our people, but the people within the communities in which we operate.

Ramelius is a strong advocate of mental health support services and places great importance on the health and well-being of our workforce.   Today, is “R U OK? Day”, and the theme is “I’m here to hear,” reminding us all of the importance of checking in on our friends, family & colleagues when there’s a change in behaviour, or even just to see how they’ve been lately.   We recently rolled out blue high vis shirts for our employees, in recognition of this important day. In conjunction, for the month of September we have partnered with Beyond Blue to run a Dollar Match fundraising initiative, whereby Ramelius is matching each donation made by our workforce, to Beyond Blue.   All funds raised will go towards Beyond Blue’s 24/7 support service, providing immediate, short–term counselling, mental health information and referrals to anyone in Australia via telephone, webchat and email 24/7.   For our office staff who don’t get the opportunity to wear a blue shirt today, they are indulging in sweets this morning in the office.

Steve is Ramelius’ Corporate Counsel and Assistant Company Secretary. After coming on board about 8 months ago, he shared that the standout for him has been how welcoming and engaging everyone has been from day one. “Whether it’s been at the operations on the mines, in the Perth office, or with members of the Board, everyone I've met is genuinely positive about the work they do and the impact they have on the Company” Steve shared. The best piece of advice he has received in his life is “not every hill is worth dying on" which he explains, helped him when negotiating outcomes in his day-to-day role, be that with a regulator, for a position in a contract or seeking to resolve a dispute. Essentially meaning that it’s better to focus on matters that have significant consequences, rather than getting bogged down by small or trivial issues. Thanks for sharing with us, Steve.
