❤️ At the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, we love volunteers! 🐴 This week, Council and the Shire’s Executive team visited the Darling Downs Equestrian Park as part of the Council in the Community initiative. 🙌 The Shire and DDRA have a formal agreement which allows the two organisations to work collaboratively to maintain and improve the equestrian park. 🌳 The Council and Executive team received an update from the Darling Downs Residents Association (DDRA) about the area, and the great work that is undertaken by their volunteers to maintain this much-loved and valued public open space. 🚜 Over the past few years, we have supported the DDRA through the provision of machinery to support their volunteers in maintaining the equestrian park, as well as providing financial support towards the improvements to signage, information boards and day yards for horses. 🙏 All of this could not be achieved without the amazing contribution of the DDRA volunteers, who gave more than 2000 volunteer hours in 2023/24! Thank you! 🧑🤝🧑 Council in the Community is just one of our initiatives enabling us to hear directly from local community groups and clubs, to discover how we can support our community groups and clubs to grow and thrive.

🎥 Yesterday, our People and Development team team reel-ly outdid themselves by hosting an All Staff Catch-Up at the Civic Centre with a movie theme! They set the stage by handing out popcorn and lollies, inviting everyone to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. The main feature was a movie created entirely in-house—shot, recorded, and edited by our talented HR crew. The film took us on a journey through our blockbuster achievements in staff retention, the development of our core values, and the creation of a culture that truly benefits and resonates with our team. #teambuilding #sjshire #values #Accountability #Collaboration #Trust
