We were thrilled to welcome F1 driver Romain Grosjean as a TAC ambassador for the recent Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025 to reinforce the importance of vehicle safety in preventing road trauma. The TAC was at the F1 event with our vibrant, interactive ‘Drink Lemons Don’t Drive them’ activation ensuring racegoers understood the importance of driving the safest car they can afford. The campaign aims to reshape perceptions of what makes a car a ‘lemon’, by shifting the focus from reliability to include vehicles lacking essential safety features. TAC CEO Tracey Slatter highlighted the partnership with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC), as an opportunity to promote road safety to a broad cross-section of Victorians to help create a safer road system for everyone. “Through this sponsorship, we aim to improve understanding of life-saving vehicle safety features and help Victorians make informed choices,” she said. Research shows that almost two-thirds of all drivers and passengers killed on Victorian roads last year were in vehicles over 10 years old. These models often lack life-saving features such as automatic emergency braking (AEB), electronic stability control (ESC), and side curtain airbags. Road trauma could be reduced by up to 33% if all Victorians drove the safest vehicles available. Watch our behind-the-scenes video which explains why we partnered with this iconic event. Calling all healthcare professionals—help shape the future of major injury care by sharing your expertise. Your input will help shape patient outcomes to improve care worldwide. Sponsored by the TAC, the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) has formed a Major Injury Working Group to identify a minimum set of measures to be implemented in clinical practice for the care of adults with major injuries. The ICHOM is a non-profit organisation that works with healthcare professionals, researchers, and patient representatives worldwide. It encourages healthcare organisations to measure these outcomes to help improve their services, which in turn provide better results for the patients. Congratulations to Bendigo Spirit on an incredible season and for winning the WNBL 2024/2025 Championship for the first time in a decade. The TAC has partnered with Bendigo Spirit for the past two years, using our presence at the game, on radio, and on social media platforms to remind fans of the dangers of risky driving, with a particular focus on speed. As of 10 March, 63% of deaths this year (39 of 62) have been on regional roads. “The level of road trauma we are seeing in regional Victoria is concerning, and our partnership with Bendigo Spirit allows us to reach into local communities and promote safe driving,” said TAC Head of Community Jacqui Sampson. “The TAC is proud to partner with Bendigo Spirit to draw focus and commitment to road safety within the region.” #TACVictoria #basketball #partnership #winners #roadsafetyawarenss #Victoria

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and recognise the talented women at the TAC. Under this Year’s theme, ‘For All women and girls: Rights. Equality, Empowerment’, we’re showcasing two of our leaders who have recently shown a commitment to empowering others. Robyn Canning, Senior Manager in our Clients Division, recently completed Leadership Victoria’s highly respected Williamson Community Leadership Program and was given the honour of being selected as valedictorian. The 10-month program brings together leaders from across the state and from all walks of life to help drive meaningful impact on society's complex issues. “I learnt about our Victorian community history, First Nations culture, federal, state and local politics, trade unions, the responsibility of privilege and the benefits of wider spread prosperity,” Robyn said. “I loved considering the interrelationships with what was, what is and what will be and I have sharpened my approach as to how I lead strategies to address adaptive leadership challenges and how I bring people on board to contribute to the TAC being a high performing culture.” Dispute, Resolution and Litigation Senior Manager Lauren McKirdy was recently invited to tour and speak with the Marngoneet and Karreenga Correctional Centre managers. “I shared stories and strategies on fostering accountability in teams and tackling challenging conversations - topics that resonate with every kind of workplace, everywhere,” Lauren said. “The leadership team had fantastic questions, sparking discussions about navigating interpersonal challenges and holding personal boundaries." As we head into the long weekend, our Pause Stops will be at two key locations in Victoria urging people to take a break and not drive tired. Sadly, 58 people have lost their lives on Victoria's roads so far this year (6 March) compared with 51 at the same time last year. Driving while tired contributes to 16 -20 % of fatal crashes on Victorian roads each year and accounts for around 25% of road trauma injuries at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital. “Driving while fatigued doesn’t just put you at risk – it endangers everyone else on the road. When we’re tired, our ability to react and make safe choices is severely compromised," said TAC CEO Tracey Slatter “We’re asking all Victorians to stay alert and make choices that keep themselves and others safe. Get a good night’s sleep before driving, allow plenty of travel time, and take regular breaks to stay alert." Over the long weekend, the TAC will have roadside Pause Stops in Drouin and Port Fairy plus information and activities at 15 Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) locations within the state. #TACVictoria #PauseStop #takeabreak #roadsafetyawareness #roadsafety

Last week, we hosted a special screening showcasing the incredible work of two talented young content creators who won our Split Second Competition. Congratulations to Olivia Hartanto and Rhys D. Callanan, for their impactful films focused on the wearing seatbelts and the dangers of driving while tired. "This is a really important competition for the TAC, as we constantly look for new and innovative ways to reinforce critical road safety messages,” said Head of Community Jacqui Sampson. "Split Second provides us with a unique platform to engage with younger drivers, who are just beginning their driving journey, allowing us to reach them with relevant and memorable content.” Research highlights that young drivers are involved in more crashes resulting in death and serious injury than any other group of drivers. Fatigue plays a critical role in these incidents, and drivers aged 18-25 are also the most likely age group to travel as drivers or passengers without wearing a seatbelt. Below, you will find a wrap-up of the premiere. You can watch the films on the TAC website here: https://lnkd.in/gnk-YEW. #TACVictoria #fatigue #seatbelts #youngdrivers #tireddriving #roadsafetyawareness

We were thrilled to showcase our Pause Stop message and promote our partnership with the Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) at the recent Vision Summit, which was held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event provided an invaluable opportunity to highlight our initiative to help prevent road deaths and serious injury related to driver fatigue. Under the tagline 'A pause from the road might save your life,' the TAC Pause Stop encourages long-distance road users to plan ahead, pull over, and recharge. There are more than 60 places to pause from the road across Victoria during key holiday periods, including 15 Visitor Information Centres with our Pause Stop information and activities. Speakers throughout the day gave valuable insights into the trends, challenges and opportunities in shaping the future of Victoria's visitor economy. As we work to continually improve the experience of people with disability in the workplace, we’re proud to release our Access and Inclusion Plan (2025 -2027), building on our commitment to a high-performing culture. Developed in partnership with the Australian Disability Network and consultation across our organization, the Access and Inclusion plan includes input from our people with lived experience of disability. The plan covers four key areas: * Our commitment: We will deliver all actions in this plan and be accountable for our progress. * Our people: We will advance a disability-confident workforce that is accessible, inclusive, and safe, where all employees can thrive. * Our environment: We will enhance our built and virtual environment to provide dignified access for our employees. * Our ways of working: Accessibility will be at the heart of how we work at TAC. People with disability are one of our five priority groups under our Inclusion and Diversity Framework. At the TAC, we’re proud that 7.8% of our organisation identifies as people with disabilities (August 2024 data), and we are continuing to attract, support, and retain diverse people. “This new plan articulates how we will set out to achieve this goal and our priorities that will guide us over the next two years. I firmly believe that workplace accessibility and inclusion is everyone’s responsibility. Through respect and openness to listening and learning, we all have a role to play,” said TAC CEO Tracey Slatter. Over the coming months we will share thoughts from our people on the Access and Inclusion Plan and their lived experience working at the TAC. You can read the Access and Inclusion Plan 2025 - 2027 on the TAC website. https://lnkd.in/gDu5H6ev #Disability #TACVictoria #inclusion #framework #ourpeople #disabilityinclusion
