Whether you are based in head office, work FIFO or service a mine site, you can make a positive difference through the Container Deposit Scheme. A new partnership between Western Australia Return Recycle Renew (WARRRL) and the Eramurra village and mine site near Karratha is demonstrating how this can be achieved. The partnership will include 360 Containers for Change bins, aiming to divert 2.7 million containers from landfill each year. Around 50 million drink containers are lost to landfill on mine sites every year and this initiative will help improve the recycling rates in WA's mining sector. The WA Government Container Deposit Scheme has saved more than 3.5 billion containers and facilitated over $13 million in donations each year to charities, schools, and community groups.
