Congratulations to Weathertex on the completion and achievement of a Global GreenTagCertTM LCARate™ PLATINUM Plus certification of your products that were assessed under the Global GreenTag LCARate™ program, a 'beyond LCA' Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) based rating system for health and sustainability preferred products from 'Cradle to Grave' for Unprimed Flatsheets & Weatherboards. Weathertex Unprimed Flat Sheets and Weatherboardsare flat sheets and weatherboards of Responsible Wood certified Australian hardwood timber with no added formaldehyde. These products are available in various styles, textures and sizes and can be incorporate with other Weathertex products for multiple design options. Unprimed Weathertex products are designed to mimic raw undressed wood. The product ranges include Selflok Weatherboards and Weathergroove Architectural Panels, with a natural finish. These Flat Sheets and Weatherboards are cladding products made from natural Australian hardwood timber from responsibly managed Responsible Wood/PEFC-certified NSW state forests and NSW Government Land Services approved private native forestry. Weathertex Flat Sheets and Weatherboards are compliant to AS/NZS1859.4 - Wet Processed Fibreboard for Exterior Conditions (HB.E). They are Material Group Number 3 under AS/NZS 5637.1 Fire testing. Primelok also has low formaldehyde emissions at <0.07mg/L using AS/NZS 4266.16 and low VOC <0.005 mg/m2/hr using ASTM D5116. Manufactured in a facility with an ISO14001 conformant Environmental Management System and a certified ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Weathertex offers a 10 year warranty on these products. 2 of the world's biggest stages are right on my doorstep. I can walk to Australian Open and the Australian Grand Prix Corporation from home AND work. It’s an immense privilege that’s not lost on me one little bit. I absolutely LOVE LOVE watching live tennis (the GP doesn’t have quite the same effect on me) but of course, like most fabulous things - as a climate tech founder, it’s hard to unsee the abundance and waste that comes from such events (I fully participated in this abundance - I am not judging anyone here - believe me!) So I equally had my eyes peeled for the good, the progress, the reduced waste, the smart changes being made, the circularity programs that are emerging and I am optimistic that we are headed in the right direction. LUCKILY for me, I bumped into our member Marky Rochford Frank Wild on the concourse who was checking in on the Kia Australia Pty Ltd build his team had crafted. And I got a lil sneak peek inside! As specialists in sustainable event management, frank wild know EXACTLY how to measure and manage the environmental effects of events and they do it, whether it's in the brief or not. Marky took Matthew Bruce and I through Kia's set up and talked us through the clever ways they reduce, reuse, recycle in their builds - over and over and over!
