🌟 It was fantastic to see Lara Dalton MLA proudly wearing her Australian Zero Homelessness Summit tee at her local markets! Ensuring the message and conversation that ending homelessness is possible is continued outside of these big events is crucial in raising awareness in our community and networks. Together we can raise awareness and work towards meaningful change. Thank you, Lara, for being an advocate for such an important cause! 💙 #HomelessnessIsSolvable #ZeroHomelessnessSummit

About us
The Western Australian Alliance to End Homelessness (WAAEH) is an independent body of individuals and organisations committed to working together to end homelessness. Open to anyone who believes homelessness is solvable, the Alliance works by taking a deep dive into understanding the problem and ending it together. We were so honored to co-host this event with the Australian Alliance to End Homelessness, we absolutely loved the week of events, connections and conversations!
That's a wrap on our biggest week of events for the year! An enormous thank you to everyone who attended, spoke and contributed across four remarkable days last week. A special thanks to those who travelled from interstate and internationally to join us in Fremantle 🙌 Across Tuesday's local government workshop, Wednesday's Zero Homelessness Summit, Thursday's AtoZ Learning Session and Friday's AHVTT training, we were incredibly fortunate to hear from many voices on the ways we can end homelessness together. The purpose of the Summit is to bring together people from all sectors and organisations, and that was palpable last week. From people with lived experience of homelessness to those working across homelessness services, government, academia and more, it was powerful to have so many passionate voices in one room, all working towards the same cause. We're feeling energised and inspired, and we hope you are too! The momentum is building, and together, we can end homelessness. Stay tuned for details on our next events! #ZeroHomelessnessSummit #HomelessnessIsSolvable

We still can’t believe the biennial Australian Zero Homelessness Summit is over! And what a day it was 🙌 After a fantastic morning, Lorraine McGrath took us into the afternoon with invaluable insights from Scotland. Kelly Nelson facilitated a panel discussion, inviting Rosanne, Lorraine, Iain, David and Debra to offer practical strategies for implementing the day's learnings as we return to our various communities. Taylor and Michala created space to reflect on collaboration-fuelled wins around the country 🎉 Each one was met with the hundreds of people in the room rising, throwing their arms in the air for a group wave, creating a mesmerising ripple across the room! We heard from Fremantle Mayor, Hannah Fitzhardinge GAICD, who spoke on the inherent role local government has to play in the work of ending homelessness. And... to finish with a bang, we were delighted to have Michael Piu announce the WAAEH's partnership with Imagined Futures in the launch of the Fremantle Zero Prospectus! Stay tuned for more on what we've been up to this week. For now, it is suffice to say we are feeling MIGHTY INSPIRED 🌍💡🧠 #homelessnessissolvable

Yesterday we launched the Fremantle Zero Prospectus. We are so excited to be partnering with Imagined Futures! #homelessnessissolvable
Imagined Futures is proud to announce we're partnering with the Western Australian Alliance to End Homelessness to end rough sleeping in Fremantle. Launching our prospectus in front of a group of incredible national and international experts at the Australian Zero Homelessness Summit yesterday, the Fremantle Zero Project seeks to apply the strength, expertise, resources and knowledge of the organisations already working in our region to drive systems-wide change and ensure that any experience of homelessness in our community is rare, brief and one-off. We have the right components and conditions in place to achieve our goal. Now, we need your help to make it a reality. Go here to learn more --> https://lnkd.in/g-mC7Hxs

What a powerful start to the Australian Zero Homelessness Summit! It was an honour to have Dr Gerrard Shaw begin the day with a heartfelt Welcome to Country, and we were thrilled to have Minister John Carey MLA with us to open the event. We then had the privilege of hearing from Dr Gregory P. Smith with a lived expertise address, and David Pearson with an address on the state of the movement. We finished off the morning with an insightful keynote from Rosanne Haggerty on the role of permanent supportive housing, which followed a dynamic Advance to Zero Lightning Round Panel, with Iain De Jong as the moderator. We are looking forward to the afternoon ahead! #homelessnessissolvable

✨🎉We are so lucky to have you as part of our team Emily Williams and we are so happy for the recognition of the amazing work you do in the community! Congratulations! 💪🎆🙌😽🎇🌻💐🌟 (we also know your love of the emoji so here are a big handful for you 😊
It was an honour to attend the #WAYouthAwards hosted by Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) and be awarded the Mission Australia Young Changemaker of the Year. I couldn’t do what I do, without the support of community; from Pride in Peel Inc, my activist and changemakers friends back in SA and here in WA. 🌈 My workplace - Western Australian Alliance to End Homelessness under the courageous leadership of Michala McMahon your dedication and support as a leader in the homelessness space continues to empower me on my own leadership journey. 🫶 I wish to acknowledge the inspirational leadership, strength and impact of the two other finalists in the #youngchangemaker space - Kass Boladeras and Joshua Patrick. Your commitment to acting with kindness and tackling the injustice prevalent within our society is a testament to the courage and power of young people. Let’s keep up the fight, together 💪 As this journey has allowed me to reflect on the impacts and the work still to do. I ask that you carry what may feel like a heavy conversation and hold your voice to the advocacy of unjust systems that serve to only fragment us, cause harm, and subject many to oppression. That in our work to disentangle profits from policies that we centre the voices of those we serve. As it’s people, not profits that enrich community. In doing so, we retain a sense of balance at holding systems to account for those injustices. Yet that aggression we hold at the system we find a way to balance and as we do, we do so with kindness in our hearts for the people we serve. And that none of us can be free until everybody is free. 🌏 #waya24 #yacwa #changemakers #community #youngpeople #feminism #socialjustice
