With more job-ready customers at our WISE Employment Lake Haven and The Entrance sites, our teams hit the ground running at a fun, high-energy Reverse Marketing event, securing over 20 new job opportunities in just three hours 🎉 By working directly with employers across the Central Coast, we sourced sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities in hospitality, retail, manufacturing, aged care, beauty, and trades—including apprenticeships, traineeships, and Indigenous-identified roles. This May, we’re hosting a Jobs Fair on the Central Coast of NSW and would love to hear from businesses looking for staffing solutions and great candidates. If you're interested in participating, get in touch at lakehavenwfa@wiseemployment.com.au for more details 👋

This International Women’s Day (IWD), we’re marching forward for ALL women and girls. While progress has been made, too many women still face barriers to employment, inclusion, and opportunity. At WISE, we see the impact of these barriers every day, but we also see the strength, talent, and resilience of the women pushing past them. Real change happens when we turn words into action and when we create workplaces that welcome, support, and uplift women of all abilities. Join us in creating a future where all women, of all abilities, have equal access to opportunity. Creating inclusive workplaces starts from within 💜 As we celebrate International Women’s Day tomorrow, we’re shining a light on some of the incredible women at WISE who are leading by example—whether it’s mentoring future leaders or creating safe, supportive spaces for women. "We build confidence, we empower, and we remind women that they have the ability to change their circumstances. Once they believe it, that’s when the magic happens." – Lisa Ryan Read their stories here: https://lnkd.in/dAZy36jM

Earlier this month, team members from our Western Adelaide, Southern Adelaide, Northern Adelaide, and Gawler DES and WFA sites proudly took part in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Walk of Awareness. This year, the walk saw overwhelming community support, with around 1,000 people—including local providers, council representatives, and community members—coming together to reflect, acknowledge the past, and work toward a more inclusive future. Walking across Birkenhead Bridge, followed by a Smoking Ceremony and Kaurna Welcome to Country, commemorated the anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations as we came together to acknowledge the legacy of broken cultural, spiritual, and family ties and share in the healing.

Our WISE Belgrave and Wantirna teams recently sat down with Aaron Violi MP to discuss the real challenges job seekers face and what needs to change to create more accessible and supportive workplaces. The discussion explored the local job market, the impact of hidden disabilities, and the roadblocks that aren’t always obvious. One of our customers also shared her experience, opening up about the challenges she’s faced in her job search and the progress she’s making toward securing a role as a Small Business Mentor. Hearing stories like hers was a great reminder of the difference the right support can make in helping job seekers take the next step toward meaningful employment 💡🙌

Many people with disability face barriers to employment, not because of their skills or potential, but due to outdated perceptions. This article from Monica Sweeney challenges these misconceptions and explores the many benefits of employment beyond income, including greater independence, confidence, and social connection. At WISE, we’re committed to breaking down these barriers. Through Project SEARCH, we partner with employers to provide young adults with disability with hands-on job training and observational work experience. If you're an employer interested in supporting the next generation of job seekers through Project SEARCH, reach out to cherie.valentine@wiseemployment.com.au 🤝
People with intellectual and hidden disabilities are often underestimated in the workforce and often let their families in the dark, not knowing what to do—but they have so much to offer. When given real opportunities, they thrive, proving their skills, dedication, and value. Employment isn’t just about income; it’s about dignity, purpose, and belonging. It’s time to challenge outdated perceptions and create workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed. Let’s shift the mindset and open doors for true inclusion. #Inclusion #Diversity #EmploymentForAll #DisabilityEmpowerment #WorkplaceInclusion #ChangingPerceptions #EqualOpportunities #WISEEmployment #ProjectSEARCH #HiddenDisabilties #Autism #Asperges #Community
