Who in your workplace is a good people person? One of Andrew’s strengths is interacting with other people. But when a customer service role became too inconsistent, he wanted help to find a job that would provide the hours he wanted. Andrew has a neurological condition that impacts his mobility, and despite being eligible for the aged pension, was eager to keep working. It was this passion to work and meet people that helped him succeed with support from our APM Warwick team in Perth and the Disability Employment Services program. With some coaching on his resume and interview techniques, Andrew was supported to apply for other positions with similar entertainment venues he was already familiar with. Read how the tailored support led Andrew to achieve positions in multiple venues around Perth and reach his targeted employment hours. https://lnkd.in/gVA2HsY6 #SuccessStories #DisabilityEmployment #Inclusion #CustomerService

We are thrilled to share the highlights from two incredible award events hosted by our APM Employment Services teams in Tasmania. These events showcased the power of community collaboration in supporting job seekers with disability and local businesses. We had 100 people join us in Ulverstone, including local Mayors Cheryl Fuller, Alison Jarman, and Teeny Brumby, and MP Gavin Pearce. In Launceston we were honoured to have Federal Member of Bass, Bridget Archer, Federal Labor Lyons Candidate, Rebecca White, and Senator Tammy Tyrrell join us. Both nights included inspiring stories from people who have overcome great challenges to achieve their personal employment goals and succeed in their communities. There were several awards for employers and participants of our employment programs too. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists for their incredible achievements. And thanks to everyone who made these nights a success. We look forward to many more celebrations in the future! #Community #EmploymentServices #Awards #Celebration #DisabilityEmployment #LocalBusinesses

Does your business enjoy the benefits of a strong partnership? When it came to recruiting the perfect employee, Adam from our APM Employment Services team was able to support local business Luvenit, every step of the way as he understood their specific needs. Through this partnership, Luvenit found Ngaire, a dedicated employee who quickly became invaluable. With their inclusive hiring, Luvenit also saw the rewards of hiring someone through Disability Employment Services. These included support from Adam and his team to help Ngaire find her feet in the new role, access to training, and a wage subsidy to offset some of the hiring costs. The positive impact of hiring people with disabilities has been overwhelming for Luvenit. Employer Zoe emphasised, “Just because someone has a barrier or disability doesn't mean they won't be an asset to your business.” See more about this valuable partnership in the video below… #DisabilityEmployment #DisabilityInclusion #EmploymentGoals #Jobs #GoodNews

Where will you be in five years? It’s a common question in every workplace and one we often think about when a job seeker succeeds in one of our employment programs. Recently we decided to check in with some of the brilliant people we whose stories we’ve been sharing over the years. One of those was Jessica. A happy young job seeker, Jessica came to APM Employment Services for help to find a good job that would help her gain confidence and bring valuable experience. Living with cerebral palsy and other health conditions, Jessica had found it difficult and felt like she would never find a job. When she did secure a role with a local hair salon café, Jessica couldn’t believe it. And it was just the start of an exciting few years which would see her grow her skills, confidence, and become the face of APM’s advertising campaign. Today she’s always exploring new adventures and is about to hit the road for an epic family trip.
