Early entry schemes for university – where students get an offer before their final exams – are increasingly popular. 🎓 Now, new research shows early offers do not make a significant difference to how hard a student tries in their final exams or their results. The best predictors of students’ final results were their previous results and their efforts earlier in Year 12. 💪 https://lnkd.in/gQHR_z3f 🏷️ UNSW Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)

🔍 What are our early career research fellows currently working on? We asked environmental historian and author of ‘Visions of Nature’, Dr Jarrod Hore: “I’m currently working on two related things. The first is a collection of essays and chapters that I am assembling with Prof. Alison Bashford and Prof. Pratik Chakrabarti (University of Houston). The book is about the modern history of Gondwanaland and it’s powerful life after it was first suggested as a geological idea. The second thing I’m working on is my next book, which will be a history of modern earth science from a series of southern hemisphere sites that have always been kind of peripheral in histories of geology and of science.” Read more 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gUB78H4K
