Naggangbi! (Hello) Last week, Zurich's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Cultural Awareness Network (CAN) Employee Resource Groups hosted a Dharawal language workshop led by the Gujaga Foundation. This enriching experience deepened our appreciation for the Dharawal culture and the importance of preserving Indigenous languages. We explored Dharawal history, learned basic greetings like “Naggangbi” (Hello) and “Budjari” (Well done), and delved into traditions and stories. Interactive activities like Yagay (Bingo) made learning fun and memorable. The workshop highlighted the intrinsic connection between language and the land. Zurich recently convened the inaugural meeting of its Mental Health Roundtable, a bi-annual forum of key academic, clinical and civil society representatives to discuss trends and areas for greater collaboration with the life insurance industry. Attendees discussed Zurich's use of AI to identify key mental health factors and explored challenges and opportunities within the life and health insurance sectors. Recent academic research was also presented, together with an exploration of the issues contributing to a growing prevalence of mental health conditions in Australia and factors for driving improved resilience.
