☘ We are excited to start the work with all the partners under GFAiR - Global Forum on Agricultural Research and Innovation ’s Collective Action on #Agroecology. The specific action, we are bringing to this collaborative space, together with the SIANI - Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), focuses on two main objectives: 1. 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Showcasing the High-Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE) 13 principles of agroecology in different agricultural settings to increase understanding and promote adoption through accessible communication materials. 2. 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: Understanding what drives agroecological #transitions and identifying barriers that hinder progress or threaten the sustainability of agroecological systems. 🌾 AgriCord is bringing into this effort a wide network of Farmers' Organisations (FO), research and agri-agency partners currently implementing the European Union-funded Farmer-led Research and Innovation on Agroecology (FO-RI) programme and many partners from the Agence Française de Développement-funded 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑒𝑡 𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑑𝑜𝑦𝑒𝑟 𝑑𝑒𝑠 𝑂𝑟𝑔𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑠𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑃𝑎𝑦𝑠𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑠 (SEPOP) programme, as well as Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH-funded Farmers Organisations' for Food System (FOFS) programme. The partners have a wealth of experience in co-creation of knowledge, scaling up FO services on agroecology, rolling out agroecological practices and improving #market access for agroecological products. AgriCord, represented by our CEO, Katja Vuori, is also motivated to contribute to the work of the 𝗚𝗙𝗔𝗶𝗥’𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿. Ravi Khetarpal continues as the Chair, and Romano De Vivo is a newly appointed Vice Chair. We look forward to engaging with and contributing to this global effort to enhance knowledge, science and #research networks between #farmers, their organisations and #agriculture research and to drive impactful change in the agricultural sector and food systems. 🌍🌱 Andreas Quiring Anne Panel Tiina Huvio Marek Poznanski Rafael Luiz Junges #Agroecology #Sustainability #LocalInnovation #Collaboration #FarmerLedResearch #FoodSecurity
