About us
BEDA exists to ensure permanent liaison between its Members and the authorities of the European Union in order to communicate and promote the value of design and innovation to the European economy. The objectives of BEDA are: 1. Enhance the awareness and understanding of the value of design. 2. Strengthen the capability of the design sector to meet future needs. 3. Build capacity for design among EU businesses. 4. Advocate design for public sector renewal. 5. Promote design as a new approach to policy-making. BEDA is actually running the 'Design Europe 2021 - Design for Cultural and Creative Growth' project, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. In 2021, BEDA was one of the first partners of the New European Bauhaus, an initiative of the European Commission to boost the European Green Deal.
