The discussion will also focus on the essential role of 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 in accelerating these technological advancements from research labs to commercial applications. 🧭 We will begin with an overview of the current SSB landscape, highlighting key developments and strategic priorities for Europe. 🔦 Project highlight: EXTENDED project 🔦 🔋 The EXTENDED project overall objective is to design, develop and validate the next-generation battery pack systems that will be an answer to the unmet need for mass-market take-up of electric vehicles and applications. 🌿 This will be possible because the Extended project is developing 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗲𝗰𝗼-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱, 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 with substantially reduced charging times and a lifetime of at least 300,000 km. These will be monitored with an advanced Battery Management System developed for 1st and 2nd life. ⚡ The battery system is being developed based on 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 with almost double energy density compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. 🤝 This project is part of the 𝗘𝗨-𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝘂𝗦 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, funded under the same #HorizonEurope call, in order to consolidate their collaboration. ➡️ Find out more about the EXTENDED project and the other #BATT4EU projects here: https://lnkd.in/eDiYQy6u #BatteryInnovation #SustainableEnergy #BEPA

He is the coordinator of our BATTERY 2030+ sister project OPINCHARGE, with whom we organised this joint workshop. As Principal R&T Associate at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), Dr. Eswara has extensive expertise in advanced microscopy and nanoanalytical techniques. His research delves into understanding the structure and chemical composition of materials at high resolution using electron and ion beam techniques. Since 2013, he has been a permanent researcher in LIST's Advanced Instrumentation for Nano-Analytics (AINA) group.
